I was reading some older threads and I found a lot of people stating that SP should not be a problem with Genetic CC leveling and we should not have to use things like RWH+9 to maintain our SP. I have found that I spend more than 50% of my time grinding wearing a RWH to keep my SP up and the rest of the time split between CoD and Rudolphs hat for HP. So I feel like I spent a lot of zeny on getting this CoD only to spend very little time actually using it. Here are some of the responses I read...

1) Your int is too low - my stats are 61 str/1agi/40vit/100int/ 83 dex/1luk

2) Your damage is too low so you are casting CC to many times - my CC hits for roughly 10-11k at level 107/22 hunting in Nogg with Holy Balls. I am using Holy balls because this 1 shots the Nightmares and Devruchis. Using Iron Cannon Balls I have to cast CC twice to kill every mob in the zone. My gear has been working towards fast CC casts so I am wearing 3/2 and 3/3 RWC rings with CoD+9 (saving for KK cards), but I am using a iHBP instead of the FAW since it is what I had (this may change in the future).

3) You just shouldn't be having SP problems using CC build - Is my perception of what SP problems are skewed? I dont carry any SP items and expect to be able to kill everything in Nogg 2 as i encounter it walking through the zone. Do most people sit and regen sp occassionally?

Random Questions...

What should I plan to do when the 2000% bonus on Rudolph expires? Are other people using slims, hell poodle/snowier cards, or WPH switching? Should I be kiting more and using less consumables? I can chew through roughly 800 carrots in 30 minutes.  Are the bonuses on Fish in Mouth for Fresh Fish actually worth it and why is it so expensive?

How will a build focused around HBP be different than FAW?

Thanks in advance!

I have SP problem too. :p_sleep: .

Just wear RWH all the time ,switch it back to EMH when u need to bomb mvp.

WPH is good but it takes all your headgear slots.

Fish in Mouth Dx. if u use 800 carrots per 30 min,u will need to use 2400 fishes maybe more per 30min. :p_sick:

HBP VS FAW . U should just read Azzy 's Thread

1) stats are fine.

2) Sounds right. Your DPS will greatly improve when you switch to spell or EA FAW.

3) "I don't carry SP items" - and the problem comes into focus. You're a third job character, you don't go around leveling without SP items! The SP problems will get less bad over time, but if you want to level without signing your headgear slot over to to a rideword or equiv, you've gotta have some SP items on hand. Also, mob bigger and more aggressively, so you don't have to cast CC as much for the same number of monsters. Hell, I used Ygg seeds for SP while I was going 150-175 on my RK, and it only took me 2000 for that, making it less than a quarter of consumable expenses.

Also - the Recovery enchant for lower shadow headgear, if it works on CC, would be great. I don't know if it works through CC though.

4) We're potting slims or aloe leaflets if we're effective, WPH  set if we're not. WPH hurts your damage significantly, because you lose the CoD's cast reduc, or the EMH damage bonus. If you level partying in gramps TI, the pot consumption is markedly lower.

5) FiM is no good. It's for looks and because it's rare, not because it's good (though I'm sure some people buy it at these prices in mistaken belief that it helps way more than it does)

Of course, if you have a Sera homun with painkiller, you don't need to worry about HP items much, since you'll be taking 1's from all normal monsters up to the 140's.

Thanks for the input Azzy. I was leveling a Ranger before this Genetic so it seemed normal to keep on a RWH because as a ranger you 1-shot everything. It looks like I need to join the world of strawberry and aloe munchers to keep the CoD on my head more often.

Also - I bought a Lucius armor for hunting in nogg before I was aware of the cards that added the same effect. Should I just sell off the Lucius and get more orleans with Pasanas and other elemental cards? Should I save it for the future and marc card it?

You're probably running out of SP because you're bleeding. Putting an ungoliant card into a CoD is probably a waste though. Magnificat in parties with an AB helps with SP a lot too (if you're not bleeding).

If you insta / near-insta cast and spam CC like mad you can also run out of SP too. For me I would default the CoD until I am down to 25-50% SP and then switch over to Vanargand or RWH. If you want, you can have a dark illusion mid to make up for a bit of the cast time you lost. What card you put into the top headgear or whether you card it or not also depends what you feel is a "waste" or how you consider resell value.

Pasana orleans is usually better, unless you already insta-cast without an orleans. Unfrozen Lucius is pretty useful in a few endgame situations.

Thanks Kasshin!

I ended up selling the lucius for a pasana orleans. Since i use iHBP I dont have instant cast yet (also missing KK card). As my damage has gone up SP has been less of a problem because i feel safer with bigger mobs and being able to 1 shot them. As a side note, I always think of buying items as a loss because I intuitively think they cannot be resold. I just have to get used to the idea that most things can be resold so its worth trying different strategies. When I do run low on sp I am switching to RWH and supplementing with grape juice as a bridge between being out of SP and the RWH procc'ing - Baby Steps!
