Before I complete the quest to get this skill, I'd like to know if it can be toggled on and off or if it stays permanently active and will go off every time my heath goes critical.  Also, is this skill really worth the added damage?  The massive defense drop doesn't seem to make the trade-off worth it.

It can be toggled on and off.

It's a significant boost to damage, but it's a pain in the ass to have to stay in red HP to benefit from it.

also keep in mind that if you transcend, you would get all your first class quest skills automatically.  so if you have some classes whose quest skills require hard to acquire items or a long quest chain, you may be better off just waiting till you transcend.

You won't have a choice once you transcend anyway. I personally think its a waste since it does nothing to DB.. Rather have the Defense up to pot back from red. wish they'd let us choose to do the quests while we trans too. I'd skip this one .. Don't hate.. I'm a one trick pony rk.. Db db db
