Hello and welcome to our community!

There are no plans to close this server anytime soon or in the near future.

I'm sure here are playing a lot of other people who are glad to help you with your class deicision, since I only play mage chars, which you dislike ;)

However, I hope to see you in-game and enjoy!

Why are you scared?

pretty sure they are scared for the same reason i am.

im scared of putting work into this game and then realize that he is dead.

even if it isnt dead now im scared of putting work into this game and then it just dies on a random patch like dragonica did.

even if it never dies in terms of population im scared that the server closes..

i had a lot of time back in my dragonica account and to lose it was terrible. im actually considering coming back because i miss the game but i dont know what to do.

I can't tell you more than what I always can tell you:

WarpPortal has no plans to close this server anytime soon or in the near future.

The more the population is growing the higher is the chance that it won't be closed. And the population pretty good right now, especially at EU daytimes.

also happy to hear that EU daytimes are healthy. im going to give it a little bit more thinking because theres still the do it all over again factor.

I have to say the hesitation is warranted from my point of view as well. After Gravity acquired DS from EA Games, i logged in a number of times in the past, only to be met with empty servers, and no one in the arenas for pvp. Game felt like a ghost town, even in the first main port city.

First here are things to clarify:

Gravity Games didn't acquire DS from EA Games. DS was developed under the name "Dragonica" by Barunson Interactive, and Barunson Interactive has been acquired by Gravity Games. Besides this the North America publisher of Dragonica has changed from THQ*Ice to WarpPortal (which is a subsidiary of Gravity Games).

EA Games was never involved in Dragonica/Dragon Saga development or publishing.

Besides this, at EU daytimes the servers aren't empty anymore. Since the server closings in EU and SEA the server population grows.

Hihi, made my day. If EA had ever in any possible way touched this game at all, I never would have touched it. Not even if somebody had offered me a billion to do so. Sorry EA, but nah......  :p_smile:

Yes, DragonSaga is been trough some really tough times since Gravity took over the game. We've had some good ups and many deep downs. I've personally been through all of this, on here, on Sea and on the EU servers. I was close to giving up more than once. This is the time you describe, empty towns, empty servers and lots of players on hiatus waiting for better days to arrive. But many of those, as myself, found their way to the last running official DragonSaga server worldwide, which happens to be exactly this one here. :p_smile:

Many of us oldies  came back, many new ones are arriving on a daily base. The so called "ghost towns" of the game are now crowded. In an amount nobody here, I believe not even Warpportal itself, ever expected.

Yes, there is still some more room for more players, this is true. Everyone out there is very welcome to join in. But with 3 of the 4 channels being on "good" on a constant and consistent base the game is doing pretty well the last time. "Ghost towns and game" are now terms of the past that hopefully never come back.

I myself find it more crowded on here than the EU server ever were and I simply love it. I love it to see people running around, farming, selling and buying stuffs, doing Dungeons and Mission Maps together and all the chatter that is going on everywhere between people that never met before. I just love the simply fact that people of any nation are playing on this one server now in happiness and peace.  :p_smile:

He's right with everything he said.  :p_smile:

Huh, I was under the impression that THQ*ICE LLC was a subsidiary of ICE Entertainment, and an affiliate of EA or was in some way founded or supported by Electronic Arts. During that wierd span between the ICE to WP. Perhaps it was another game I'm mixing the developing and founded company's with. However, with all of that said it completely missed the point.

The point, was the game is empty every time I log in, don't appreciate the side tracking very much either. Perhaps it's best I still avoid this game if this is the general etiquette.

Hihi, I didn't mean to offend you in any way with what I just said. I'm sorry if I have, didn't mean it this way. Just wanted to clarify. :p_smile:

Keep in mind I migrated from the EU servers too - as many of us did - and so I do play in the  "main hours" of the server. In other words in the timezone Sea and EU are sharing, which is the most filled one. So for me this server is always filled to a good amount.

Maybe you just connect to it in a less filled timezone, or it is a personal feeling of yours.  However, I respect your opinion. Just wanted to point out that you are welcomed, if you ever should consider to give this game one more try.  :p_smile:

People tend to over exaggerate the activity of the server, channels may seem like they have a fair amount of people but its mostly full of people in Pow farms afk farming for materials or people afking in the Actual Port of winds to keep their shops open. Sugar coating things isn't always a good thing sometimes you need to be blunt when introducing people to this game.

pvp is dead, if you want pvp go to battle-square where people cap characters in lower level'd battlesquares when their main characters cant handle their respective level battlesquare

I check in at different time zones from time to time and I always see people afk in port of winds or just plain see nobody

If you really want to enjoy your time on the game i suggest you join a guild, this game is very guild orientated and is worth playing if you have a group of friends to actually play it with.

While some people slightly tend to over exaggerate the activity of the server in a positive way, some other people slightly tend to understate the activity of the server in a negative way.

So my personal suggestion to anyone joining in would be : Give it a try and see it for yourself with your very own eyes and feelings. Get yourself your very own opinion and decide for yourself to go or to stay. :p_smile:

It's not important what other people think or say, yes including myself. Just and only important is what you think. So have a look yourself in game, see it for yourself, build your very own opinion and stick to that. Base your decision on this and whatever it will be, it is going to be just fine for yourself.  :p_smile:

However, it is always nice to see something like this "primero 81 Sorcerer Quit".  Because besides all the negativity  the game still must have "something  special", whatever that may be...... :p_smile:

Of course I'm negative towards certain people not towards the game itself.

PvP was the main draw to this game for me. As it required almost more skill then just gear-tab-attack-repeat. I'm not a grinder, in fact, any game that requires repetitious play to advance is almost boycotted in my selection process. I thoroughly enjoyed this game when it was first being developed. Loved leveling in the instances, and absolutely loved the fast paced PvP combat arenas. If PvP is dead, and you need a guild just to enjoy the PvE, then my decision has been made. I'll find something else to do. Which is a shame really, as I truly loved this game enough to get the 1k+ PvP achieve/medal on a level 23 warrior? [the 2handed sword class]. I'll check back at some point probably, but this is very disheartening to hear the game has progressed this way.
