Hi. I'm a 97 wizard. I was hoping y'all would recommend some leveling spots or a leveling guide! Also, a good place to practice getting back into the groove of using skills. And any advice on transcending?

Thanks!

I think a good area for a wiz lvl 99 is rachel area, especially Desert Wolves(Rachel Field 01). Safety wall(or ice wall if you mastered the cell trapping trick), quagmire, storm gust, fly wing, repeat. A lot of people in that level range tend to level up at the magmarings(veins field 3), Nogg Road 1/2, and low TI. A few go to Anolians and Robot Factory 1 but I don't personally recommend that personally because gargoyles and constants are super annoying. I don't know how long your "few years" has exactly been, but in case you didn't notice it, we have something called Bounty Board near tool shops in major cities. You can earn Eden Merit Badges through those quests.

For transcending:

- You need to be 99/50.

- If you don't have VIP, you have to pay 1,285,000 zeny. (You don't need to have 0 zeny after you pay the fee. Some other servers might have that 0 zeny requirement, but iRO does not.)

- You need to have less than 2000 weight.

- If you have a pet or are riding a mount, you need to put them away.

- You need to use up all of your skill points. You don't need to use up all of your status points.

iRO wiki also has an entry for leveling spots (Data -> Leveling Spots). It hasn't been updated to account for the 175/60 update, but it still applies until you get past 150.

Yeah, but we got a whole bunch of other updates recently... but in any event, since he says his highest is 97 wizard, I think it's safe to say that there's been no significant new content since renewal hit that he'd be exposed to at his level, though there's been a lot of stuff relating to endgame.

If he hasn't played since renewal (which might explain the level 97 wiz), then all the game mechanics have changed (ex, weapon upgrade now effects matk), and there's an eden group now, and you'll want to read that info for returning players thread, because lots of stuff changed with renewal, and you'll find leveling much easier compared to what you remember.

What Azzy said.

Also, take advantage of the Shadow Thief Bug Event to get your Shadow Gear Set (welfare version, but is still good).

Aaand....

Welcome back to RO! Wish you luck and that you have tons of fun! :3  :p_idea:
