New Class Guides~ Preferably different ones for PVE/PVP. All the guides I have read are more than a year old, and other class discussion posts contradict the original guide. For complete beginner's like me, this is very confusing. I am not asking for your exact build/stat, just recommendations...but when the old guide says go full str or agi and someone else says its useless, go full vit....   . Btw, not everyone understands all the stat formula's thrown out there, lol. 

 

 

Lingo Guide~ Again, for beginner's it is difficult to understand some of the game/forum lingo (VCR?). I have seen requests for parties for bosses or dungeons and I have no idea what they are.

 

 

I would just like to learn more about the game....to make sense of it.

You can go to class discussion thread to check people's thoughts and builds for every class. Most of them are explaining what is useful, what to do, your stat build etc. Its kind of useful to read those

as for grinding guide for MLs, we created a couple of videos.. but haven't uploaded them all..

@xFrozenApples: I have read them, and there is some good information there. However, as I said, many of them contradict each other. Why keep an outdated guide Pinned?

 

I turn to the forums when I play an MMO, because they are usually chock full of great advice, but what I am seeing here is lacking in up-to-date information. I actually read one poster say that all classes should go pure VIT except the swordsmen classes. Why have any other stats available if they are useless? Do you see what I mean? One guide for each class from a currently playing pro would be so beneficial! There has to be someone out there willing to help out some newbies    

 

Again, a general guide to game/forum lingo would also help us understand what the heck is going on! What is DWU, SM, or VCR?

The problem is that developers change the game too much and too many times that there is no reason to make a guide since when you complete it it's already outdated. For example warriors in the next geat update will lost 90% of their agility so all the current builts will be wrong. Some time ago only AGI gave you hit points so more or less every class has to go full AGI, now it's useless.

...and pretty much everything I said in that thread. The only thing I probably will take back is the "average person will lose vigor with seed rune changes" statement. Need to wait and see what's up with those changes.

Whit the next patch we will have a crazy time we have to discover if knight and war will take the cazar AGI and just change the weapon boosting their critical shance and critical damage whit a good tier of new seedrunes or bet on the new +80 runes and cls runes for pvp
Example: better +80 AGI × 7 and 100 agi on gear or +70 (on agi, int and str) x 7 and 1000 agi on gear?

I tend to avoid giving exact builds because it seems boring for everybody to have the same build That being said, I'm planning to make some grinding guides for classes/roles, that will explain better to the healers how to heal effectively, explain to the tanks how to tank (and protect the team), and ... eventually I'll do DPS, haha, but that's fairly easy for grinding since you just spam AoE skills.

 

Unfortunately I don't do PvP so I can't help with builds for that, and real PvE activities are kind of... non-existent(?) in the game at the moment. So mostly it will be the skills used in group grinds, how to interact effectively with party members, what the class' other skills do, how to use them, etc. I hope to have time to do this project this weekend, and if anybody (on Odin please) wants to help, just let me know!

 

Also, you're definitely right about the forums lacking current/useful information, and one of my current projects is to work towards fixing that a bit, so if there's anything else that would be helpful just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

 

 

EDIT: Quick answer to the stat question. Currently, the stat of choice is indeed VIT for every class except for Swordsman/Knight/Warrior, but, that assumes you have spent the 2 points in their passive skill "Battle Tactics", which increases the amount of damage dealt on crit. So normally, if an attack does 5 damage, the crit will do 10 since the damage doubles. Battle Tactics makes the crit damage increase by an amount per INT point, which means that lots of INT = lots of crit damage. Everybody else uses VIT because the bonus they get from other stats doesn't actually amount to much (your gear changes your stats more), but more HP is always nice. If you want to check what you get on your class for yourself, hover over the STR / INT / etc text in your character window, and it will tell you how your other stats increase per point.
