Hello,

I have a problem with the Attackspeed of my Destroyer.

I have 325% Attackspeed now but when I spam x attack its very slow!

(when I am in POW or any Field map or dungeons, always slow)

Other Destroyer witht the same attackspeed attack insanely fast. (tested it)

EDIT: When I am in my house and spam x attack as I always do, I attack as fast as I should and want!

Is it my connection only? bcause the connection to servers stays the same even in myHome doesnt it?

How did you tested another destroyer?

Please the user interface by pressing "F10" key and try out if it is faster then. This is not a solution but helps finding what is wrong.

I asked someone with the same attackspeed as me to stand next to me and attack ...

With 250% he attacks way faster than me with 325%.

I tested 3 different keyboards now. its no keyboard caused delay, bcause in myHome I CAN attack that fast !.

When I'm in myHome I attack so fast, that it cancels the x combo by itself, just as it should be with that high amounts of attackspeed.

I plugged in 2 of the keyboards and pressed x with both but its the same, so I'm not pressing too slow...

Pressing F10 doesnt help. still the same.

Can you please tell me what the configuration of your computer is?

Are your video card drivers up-to-date?

Did you try to turn off your antivirus-software (if you have one running)?

Are you streaming something in the background like music or videos?

Do you have a P2P client running? (like bitTorrent and such)

1. I dont know exactly what u mean bei that? (maybe in german? ^^)

if u mean something like  Processor and stuff i have :

   - AMD Phenom™ II X6 1090T Processor 3.20GHz

   - 16 GB Ram

   - AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series

   - 64 Bit system

2. Yes, aslong as the newest Catalys Software for AMD provides what it says @ the description of supported video cards.

3. I tried now, no difference

4. i turned evrything off no difference, even turned off skype, which is running 24/7

5. i dont use somehthing like that :D

@ crowded places i always attack rlly rlly slow now., when no player is in my screen i attack fast.

when a group of mosnters is in my screen i attack slow,

when i stand infront of farm and empo portals my attack is slow... even if noone is around.

I've heard from people with similar issues. Mostly those either play the mage or the archer class,

I've not come across any real solution so far.

I know that some of those people tried to re-install the game, for some this worked, for others  not.

The only "solution" I know of that is "working" is to completely switch from keyboard control to a game controller (like the xbox one).

For the most people that actually did help and they can now attack just fine (speed wise).

But I know, this is not a real solution at all...

I surely can understand that. I'm a keyboarder myself.  :p_smile:

Does switching of the chain combo change anything?

I've heard it could help. But on the other hand you would go back to the old way of attacking.....but maybe worth a try.

There must be something wrong within your system that does react to the game in a wrong way. Cause I do think your computer has the ability to handle the game itself pretty well.

I'm purely guessing now, but do you use special gaming keyboards that come with special software?

If so, have you tried to install the keyboard driver from it?

It could be the keyboard controller that comes with your hardware does not like the game, but this is as well just pure guessing. But you said you did try two other keyboards, I'm assuming on the same pc. So........

Do you happen to have a second pc which you could use for a short try out?

Because if this one works and your own doesn't, there must be something wrong with yours. Whatever that may be...

How is your ping to the server?

Do you have Internet Connection interruptions (Wifi connection)?

You could make a complete trace-route to see how your connection is on the complete route from your location to the warpportal servers.

You should use a tracert command on the target host "playdragonsaga.com"

Here you can find informations how to use the trace-route command:

https://support.warp...SearchID=215156

a more detailed explanation you can find here:

http://www.mediacoll...traceroute.html

Do you have a way to check the frame rate the game runs at (a program such as Fraps for example)?

Most players have this problem when the game runs at a low FPS and it is exactly how you describe it, with maximum attack speed inside your MyHome (where the game runs at 60 FPS on any computer) and slower attack speed in areas with many players or monsters, where the FPS drops.

Basically, your attack speed will suffer greatly any time the game runs below 60 FPS and the only real solution is to get a better graphics card.

  - AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series

The graphics card of this user is good enough. In this case it is most likely not a too bad graphics card.  :p_smile:

That was my first thought too though - till the user posted his graphics card informations, but I have the same graphics card series and it runs just fine.

However I agree that it would be worth checking out how your FPS are. Just in case, maybe it is just a wrong setting of your graphics card....

Btw, the tracert you posted looks very strange....

You did use "playdragonsaga.com" as target for the tracert?

I am using sorcerer myself, and this "problem" seems to happen only in Port of the Winds. In every other city/town, field map, mission map or dungeon atk speed is fine. Switching to controller does not affect either. It doesn't bother me, but looking by bare eyes FPS seems to drop in PoW, even tho there is no one around. Also PoW is quite "big" map, so i can see lots of stuff background. Just guessing if it has something to do with this. I haven't tried lowering graphics in PoW, but you could try lowering graphic settings if it helps, didn't see that suggested yet. Hope you find solution with this  :ok:

@ Nobbye :

The problem is, as a destroyer u have the normal x combo, the last shot of the combo has a fixed delay of an eternity that slows u down rlly hard, normally at around 290% ur attackspeed is high enough to interrupt this combo by itself by pressing x only!

below 250% its still fast if u tab a movement key to interrupt, but over 290% it slows u down when u use a movementkey, because it could interrupt itself :D

a sorcerer/invoker doesnt need that, because its x attack doesnt combo with itself...

And a destroyer cant deactivate the comboskills because the random shot wouldnt shot 2 parallel anymore,. the first 2-3 shots are actually rlly fast in combo , but the fourth is extremly delayed...

And i am so slow in town, that it doesnt cancel the combo by itself, and as I said, my attackspeed cant get over 290% when i tab  movementkeys...

I play on ugly graphics and it doesnt change anything :)

Thank you for this info. I Have no experience with destroyer, but after fast experiment with other of my characters, atk speed feels also a bit slower in PoW. I cant think any solutions to add here, but hope someone will come up with working ideas.

Dragon Saga is a cpu intensive game. a 60$ gpu can max this game out graphically. no difference between a gtx 460 and a titan black in this game.

A powerful cpu is needed to maintain 60 fps in large scale pvp or large towns (pow). fps drops affect attack speed and in turn affect your performance. this issue is commonplace with many players. in small areas like myhome, you can x spam fast, but in large or crowded player areas your x spam will be slow.

No amount of blind tracerts or ping inquiries will solve this. I suggest buying a new cpu if you are really interested in increasing your performance. However, the fps lagg will still remain in those convoluted areas as this game is in need of some major optimization.

An AMD Phenom X6 is a six-core processor and way enough.

I played this game on a 2-core processor absolutely flawless (with 60 FPS and more).

Dragon Saga actually uses only 1 core of the processor, so it can be played without any problems even on a 2 core processor.

The video card is the point, but an AMD Radeon 4000 series or higher is also way enough.

xfirebrandx, did you try to install a program that shows you the FPS (like Fraps) ?

It would be good to know, if you have constantly 60 FPS.

i installed fraps now... gonna note some fps' here

in myHome : 57 - 59  / attackspeed fine

pow center : 40 - 49  / attackspeed falls....

pow vault   : 25-30    / attackspeed extremly low...

so how can I increse my fps?... someone said i should increse process priotity to higher or realtime. but i cant change the priority of dragondsaga oO it says i have not the permissions, but im the only user on this computer oO

This is very strange with your configuration.

PoW can sometimes be heavy lagging when many players are standing around, but that shouldn't be the case on field maps or dungeons.

Do you encounter problems in other games, too?

How many FPS do you get if you

- turn of the UI by pressing F10

and

- set the graphic options in the game to "low"?

This is only for testing purposes so far.

Maybe you should consider to completely uninstall your current video card driver and re-install the most current driver from here:

http://support.amd.c...=Windows 7 - 64

It should be 14.12 (Omega) for your card.

Older graphics cards struggle with Dragon Saga. Your graphics card is kind of old, but still good enough to play the game at 30 FPS. For any other game, 30 FPS would be "good enough" but in Dragon Saga the x-spam classes need a computer with better performance to attack at maximum speed.

If you are getting 30 FPS just standing around in port of winds, then it is unlikely that any changes will be able to boost you to 60 FPS during combat, when other players in the party are using all their skills around you. You can try playing the game in full screen, lowering the resolution, changing the graphic settings in the game to "low", or making changes to your graphics card settings, but the increase in FPS will be minimal.

If you don't want to spend money upgrading your computer, you can try switching to a class that doesn't need high attack speed to be effective.

This is exactly what I tried to point out. Nothing has changed to the game itself since EU closed.

Your computer system is good enough to play DS flawless.

Surely, the 6900 series is way old, but not that old as DS is.

Beginning problems like this could have many different reasons, which can't be easy found out:

  • Your Windows installation is messed up
  • Your Video Card driver is messed up
  • One of your hardware components is broken
(I made experiences with broken hardware as another game started lagging with low FPS for my son. He had the same system configuration like me, for he it lagged, but not for me. The result was, that his motherboard was broken)
  • Your power supply is broken (I also made experiences with power supplies which were old and did not produce enough power anymore for all components). Especially the video card is very power hungry.

The reasons for low FPS can be very different and this is an issue that can't be easy solved from here.
