I was looking at the bako armor and comparing it to the tidung. The tidung reducing dmg from all races,

So i i have a few questions.

 

1. Why is the bako armor so expensive if it needs to be +10 to reduce the dmg by the same amount as the tidung?

 

2. Does the tidung work like I think it does? ie ifrit is formless so its giving the 5 reduc from formless cause of all types but the bako armor is giving 5 reduc (at +10)?

 

and 3 will be to some players who have experimented with the tidung

 

3. Is there any cases where the tidung was useful? I would like to think that maybe i could survive an Ifrit EQ with enuff resist w/o having to buy a gtb. =/

Bako armor reduces damage from BOSS monsters by 1% per 2 refines. While tidung gives 5% reduction from all monsters. It is clear that they are different.

Plus, Bako armor gives +2 to all stats (+1 if bayani and can be slotted). Oh, i forgot, Tidung has a reaaaaaally low defense even tho it has 10 mdef.

yea i see the difference. but i was told a bako armor was 300-400m like wtf. why so expensive if the tidung can do the same thing just doesnt give the stats? are the stats and def just worth 380m more? lol

Does boss or racial resistance reduce earthquake? I thought it didn't.

I'm not sure. But not dying to ifrit EQ would be lovely. and if i could get away with wearing a GR and lots of other fire resist/boss/race reduc while my sura tanks it. it would be awesome.

Btw, How does one get the Bako Armor?

1. to get slotted bakonawa armor, u need to trade +9 unslotted one to malaya npc.

 

2. tidung ingame description is incorrect. it gives -5% reduction of all ELEMENT. tested on drake's waterball.

tidung have very low def. IIRC with other gear adding 160+ DEF, tidung needs about ~7 mobs attacking you for it to be better than bakonawa.

although its depends on your other gear really, when you stack the same type of reduction, the more effective it become.

 

3. nothing reduce EQ except ghostring, mental strength, energy coat, granitic armor, painkiller. and as mentioned above, completely nullified by GTB and reflected by reflect magic gears.

According to translated patch notes for kRO, a fix has been implemented with Alice card because it wasn't reducing Earthquake damage dealt by boss property monsters. I think this was back in 1/14/2015? Guess that means Alice cards were intended to reduce EQ damage in the first place.

i have bako bayani, made by myself, i put angeling card on it.

okay, Bako has 55 def and 1% boss resist per 2 refines
tidung has 2 def and 5% resist from all monsters

i think the difference of 53 def means more than 5% monster reduction for most classes. why choose tidung when?

maybe it is good to resist magical attacks since it also gives 10 mdef at first place.

for pvm i never see def armor, thats why i prefer tidung. Just like @Chr0nicles said : tidung needs about ~7 mobs attacking you for it to be better than bakonawa. normally i tank more than 7 mob when solo anything XD
