Hi there!

 

I played Ragnarok a long time ago and stopped way before the third classes were introduced.

 

Comming back to the game left me a bit lost with the renewal changes and also just don't remember a lot of things.

This forum has a lot of talk about "Rangers" and it even took time for me to realize they were a new class AFTER snipers

 

Any guidance for stats, leveling and equips for me to actually get to become a Ranger would help a lot.

 

I am currently playing with my wife (she's an Acolyte) and we're about level 40 (she's 39 and I'm 41).

We're at Comodo killing Groves and Floras at Comodo Field 01.

 

Unfortunately I always get the feeling that I'm missing something new that would help me evolve faster. Maybe a new map, a new dungeon, a quest I don't know about?

 

Google points me to a lot of old outdated guides, a lot of pre-renewal stuff that's no longer valid... just a lot of noise.

 

Reading through the forum and some topics about rangers, general leveling guides, it seems everyone just focuses on the guy at level 150 after rebirths and this leaves me with the feeling that I'm missing something.

There's thing called Spotlight. Basically, they highlight a region and give that particular one EXP and drop rate boost every month or so. It's Geffen spotlight right now, so for your levels it's actually better to kill at Orc village. Do it in conjunction with Bounty Board (for Exp) and Eden Group Equipment Quest (for gear). The NPC for Eden Group Equipment Quest is in the entrance to Orc Dungeon, one by Kafra, and refills your HP and SP to full as long as you have the quest and talk to her multiple times.

I'm not sure if Eden Group has entered before you left, but if had not, we have a place called Eden Group now. They are like a HQ where players can take up hunting/looting quests in return for exp or ocassionaly some items.

 

There are 3 major exp quests that you can take.

These quests are offered according to the player's level range. The quests range from as low as lv 1 to as high as lv 140.

These quests are similar to the 1st one. However, the number of monsters that you need to clear is higher. In addition, if you manage to clear the entire quests offered from a particular region, turning them altogether at once will award you with 1 Eden Merit Badge.

Once you reach lv 70, you can try joining a party to clear these quests.
