I just resubbed last week, leveling an archer to hunter and was wondering what would be the best sniper/ranger build for someone lacking much in the way of funds? I'm still working on raising cash while doing bounties but only have 1 mil so far, level 30ish archer. I've been stating myself toward the agi falcon/crit build for when I go hunter but have zero idea what I should do for when I hit sniper and ranger. A lot of stuff people are talking about sounds foreign to me since the last time I played was back in 04.

Also are there any good archer/hunter/ranger cash shop items? I'm going VIP next week and a friend told me robo eyes were good, anything else?

Is an auto-warg build alright for leveling? I don't have the sp regen gear for the auto warg-arrow storm hybrid.

auto Warg is not that good for fast leveling. Arrow Storm + RWH or Vana Helm is the fastest way to level a ranger. An auto warg-AS hybrid build is fun. But if you want to focus on leveling, try a build focused on Arrow Storm, which is dex int vit.

I'm actually doing hybrid now, stat wise, (still sniper) and have been enjoying it but I know once I hit ranger I'll have issues with sp. I don't really have the funds for a +9 vana right now (I made a topic about it) but I guess a +0 rwh could serve me decently? I tried out the AS build and found my survivability was a lot worse but again I blame that on my gear and not the actual build. It probably gets better once I actually have arrow storm.

Thanks for the help!

I would recommend the use of a +0 rwh. Try to get it to +9 as soon as you can. It will help you greatly especially since you have a hybrid build. Anyway, happy leveling.

I have one final question (again, thanks for your help). I've never used a rideworld hat before (don't have one but will be buying soon). How much of an issue is the hp drain? Do people just switch to it when bringing out a bunch of mobs via hotkey or is the drain just not that much of an issue to begin with?

The leech is a bit annoying especially for those who has no VIT. I would recommend switching gears when you are not using AS.

Also, I would suggest you try and get a Vana helm to replace your rideword eventually. Sooner the better, really. I've used both on my ranger, and I much prefer the vana. It procs SP so much more often than rideword, which is awesome for AS when you get it. Although, I've always been one to prefer to spam healing items instead of sp items... so you may prefer the rideword.

I leveled my hunter/sniper as AGI/DEX build, then used the one-time-free stat reset they had in around Christmas to restat it to AS build once I had a few levels under my belt as Ranger. I think it's gone now, but just sticking more into a hybrid build wont be too bad, just make sure to stat a bit of int so you can AS more than a few times!

Other items to work towards getting ASAP for ranger is a white wing suit set. You don't need it to be super fancy or anything, just the regular non-enchanted White Wing Suits, Manteau, Brooch & Boots will help your AS damage a LOT, even at just +4. Another great item to get is a Sound Amplifier with a phen card in it. That gives you a 50% less cast time on AS, plus phen makes you uninterruptable.

An easy way to grab a phen card, if you are planning on VIPing your account, is to use the Overlook Dungeon to level and do the quests in there. After you finish each of the levels, at the last one you get to pick a card out of the mobs there. Phen is what I grabbed, as I needed one for my finaly build anyways, and it's free (ish, have to be VIP) to get it via that dungeon. http://irowiki.org/w..._Dungeon_Quests There is an NPC in Eden group that will warp you to the sign board to get into overlook, too. It's up and to the right in eden floor one, VIP Services. I think he /!'s when you get onto the screen. Looks like a guard. Overlook is available for VIP levels 35-75, so don't level too much if you are waiting to VIP your account, so you can take advantage of it for the free phen!

Also, the Eden group quests are very nice to get into in general. Free gears that are useful, including a bow that upgrades with "cards" eventually, that is useful until you can get your hands on an elven bow. Hunter bow works too. I've used elven bow+elven arrows on my ranger as soon as I could equip the bow, and it really makes a difference. That, and the fact that you can buy the elven arrows in bulk (and change them into quivers for less weight) very easily at... Mora I think? I haven't needed to get more quivers in a while since I stocked up on ~1k quivers at once in a bunch of trips with a merchant. Just need a warp to the town and preferably an empty cart/inventory, lol.

If you have any questions I can try to help as best I can. I haven't been too active lately due to work and whatnot, but my ranger is my main character since I got back a few months ago and I've enjoyed it a lot so definitely into spreading the love! Just PM me on the forums if you ever need anything, so I can see the notification.
