I ask because I'm pretty poor and only got mine to +7, at this point I can't afford to burn through the higher certificates. Is the helm useful at all for rangers or is it an all or nothing kind of deal where I should just stick to whatever other stat boosting helm I have (still sniper) unless I can get van to +9?

unfortunately, no.

 

+0 RWH recover twice amount of SP than +7Vana. and both have the same SP drain proc chance.

vana really need to be +9 to be useful.

It's useful for rangers because every monster you hit counts in the proc. Even better for gxes because rolling cutter only takes 5sp per use and hits a lot of monsters

at +9, it does.

 

but at +0~8Vana procs same, less leech.

its usable at +7, but you can get the best out of the item at +9

yes.

 

however as a sniper it wont be much of a help, considering its AOE deal low damage (little sp gained as a result).

 

+% range attack headgear or valentines heart hairband (valentine quest reward, +7All stat, temporary effect until april) might be better for sniper.

well I was moreso thinking of using it once I hit ranger and had AS. Wasn't planning on using it as a sniper.

Not sure about +7... But I play with a +9 on my ranger. You will be a freed ranger, no longer tied to those very kind sorcerers who give us sp.

I keep spamming AS and my sp bar is always full. I love it xD. I would highly recommend getting that to +9 during next enriched event.

notice the last column "chance increase", its chance of sp leech proc. up to +8 the chance is still base. 

chance increase start at +9.

there's no official statement for the exact % base chance for sp, but most people who tested it said its 1%.

 

i've also experience using +7 vana myself for quite some time, the proc chance is definitely not higher than +0 RWH.

i buy mi vanargand+9 when was for like 800m...i never regret on that, i love that headgear....but yeah, it has to be +9 to be effective
