Hey guys, I was wondering if the difference is pretty big and if I should go for +9 instead of +7.

This will be used mainly for Arrow Storm.

Damage formula:

ATK * (1000 + Skill Level * 80)% * BaseLevelModifier * RangedDamageModifier * SkillModifier * ElementalModifier * RacialModifier

 

BaseLevelModifier = (BaseLevel / 100 * 100)%

RangedDamageModifier = (100 + modifiers)%

SkillModifier: (100 + modifiers)%. Example: White Wing set increases Arrow Storm damage by 50%. The modifier would be 150%

 

Elemental and racial modifiers should be self-explanatory.

Example: If you're endowed with fire element vs. Undead 1 property, the elemental modifier is 125%.

Example: If the target has 30% Demi-human reduction, the racial modifier is 70%.

 

Reductions from target (ranged, elemental, racial) are part of the modifiers.

 

To make it simple, let's just use this as the damage formula:

ATK * (1000 + Skill Level * 80)% * BaseLevelModifier * RangedDamageModifier * SkillModifier

 

What's your current ATK with +7 Elven Bow equipped?

 

EDIT: Base weapon ATK of +7 Elven Bow is 195. +7 also has random variance of additional 1-16 ATK. Base weapon ATK of +9 Elven Bow is 205. +9 also has random variance of additional 1-32 ATK. Elven Arrow also provides 45 ATK. EDIT 2: Fixed the total ATK and variance for Elven Bow.

 

White Wing set:

+50% Arrow Storm damage

+30% ranged damage

+(suit refinement level * 2)% ranged damage (I'll assume +9 suit for +18%)

+3% ranged damage from brooch

+3% ranged damage from brooch (assume you're wearing two)

 

Elven Bow:

+50% ranged damage

 

Damage = ATK * 18 * 1 * 2.04 * 1.5

Damage = ATK * 55.08

assumptions: Arrow Storm level 10, base level 100, +104% ranged damage, +50% Arrow Storm damage

So +9 has a 14 ~ 84 10-31 atk advantage. For simplicity sake I'll take a number straight in the middle of that (49) (21). Using the equation he gave us gives us (very)roughly an increase of 2698.92 1156.68 damage per AS. It's an easy way to squeeze out a small chunk of damage, but it does have a price

Where are you getting 14~84? It should be 10~32. It is 10~32 damage for 2 unsafe upgrades on a level 3 weapon.

I was using the data provided by MorseCoder, which seems to have been edited after I posted

Yep, I forgot that Elven Bow is a level 3 weapon instead of level 4, so I had the additional ATK from upgrades wrong. Bad mistake on my part. However, the goal of my post was to educate and provide a method for figuring out the answer to the OP's question. There is no cookie-cutter answer, because base level factors heavily into the damage formula, and stats, especially DEX, factor heavily into the ATK formula. Knowing the ATK formula and damage formula, the OP or anyone else can calculate hypothetical damage.

The bottom line is do you want to spend like 15 bucks upgrading something to get like 10 attack.

 

If you've got money to burn, "why not?"

If you're broke, "eh, I can surely do without".

I am sorry to bring this up again. But currently I'm using a +7 Elven bow [AS]. After reading through this topic, I think spending like 60-70mil more for the +9 and "get like 10 attack" is not worth it.

So I wanna ask, how about spending money (I did a search and it's around 400mil) to get a +12 Elvenbow [AS]? Currently I have around 145 dex after self-buffs, how much more dame can I get with 1 lvl10 AS switching from the +7 to +12?

Or is it better to just try to get a +9wws with like EA3 enchant?

You'd get more damage out of upgrading the WWS to +12

I would not get a +12 Elven Bow for AS damage purposes. Other things would help more as mentioned above.

High upgrade elven bows tend to be used more for ASPD purposes, especially with beholder master card.

For AS damage, you would opt for a big crossbow, and usually something else to help compensate for the extra SP usage.

Big crossbow is better than elven; if for whatever reason you're sticking to elven, getting it to 12 from 7 is an increase of like 30~70 attack, so maybe 2%~5% or so boost in damage. Before doing any upgrades to the bow, upgrade the armor first. The white wing suit is 2% per upgrade. From 7 to 12 is 10% more damage, clearly better than any beenfit of the weapon upgrade.
