What would be the Best possible gear setup for an AS ranger with the following constraints:

 

-No Gods

-No MVP

-Gear does not exceed +9 upgrade

-Includes Phen Card or similar effect for uninterruptable cast

 

I'm not completely familiar with the current gear, as I just returned from a long break so I'm curious what gear I should be working towards. Right now I'm working toward the following setup:

 

Upper: +9 Pollution Autumn Headband [1]

Mid: Pollution Black Devil Mask [1] (or) Robo Eye

Lower: Pirate Dagger (Or anything with +5 Atk) Well-Chewed Pencil

Weapon: +9 Double Kingbird BxB [2]

Body: +9 WWS of Wild Cat [1] With EA enchants

Garment: +9 WWM with FS enchants

Shoes: +9 WWB with Dex enchants [card?]

Acc1: White Wing Brooch +Dex

Acc2: Sound Amplifier Under a Cast (or) Bow Thimble Under a Cast? (I know Sound Amp doesn't boost damage, but the Cast time reduc is really nice)

 

 

Also curious, at around ~500 combined atk how valuable is Atk+ / Atk% / Dex relative to damage dealt?

I would go for gears that gives you +DEX than +ATK, i have read and tested for myself that the boots you get for DEX is higher than ATK

As you know, every point of DEX increases your status ATK by 1 and your base weapon ATK by 0.5%. The formula for calculating ATK uses double your Status ATK, so in a way, your ATK is getting increased by 2 before taking into account the impact on base weapon ATK.

Equipment that give direct increases to ATK, like Dark Pinguicula Card, affect your Equip ATK.

Equipment that give ATK% increases, like Robo Eye, affect your Weapon ATK and Equip ATK.

 

BXB has base weapon ATK of 160. +9 gives you 64-133 additional weapon ATK.

Worst-case: 224 weapon ATK. 1 point of DEX increases your weapon ATK by 1.12.

Best-case: 293 weapon ATK. 1 point of DEX increases your weapon ATK by 1.465.

 

Using Well-chewed Pencil as an example (DEX+3), your weapon ATK goes up by 3.36-4.395, and your status ATK goes up by 3. The ATK formula takes twice your status ATK, so your total ATK goes up by 9.36-10.395.

 

Now for an example with Robo Eye. Assuming you have 120 DEX, your status ATK is 120. Your weapon ATK would be 358.4-468.8. Equipping Robo Eye increases your weapon ATK by 1.12-1.465 (from the DEX+1), so that your weapon ATK before the +2% physical damage is 357.28-470.265. With the +2% physical damage, your weapon ATK is 364.4256-479.6703. Your status ATK goes up by 1.

Net change from equipping Robo Eye using the ATK formula:

- ATK from Status ATK: +2

- ATK Weapon ATK: +6.0256-10.8703

- Total ATK: +8.0256-12.8703

 

I might have calculated these wrong, but hopefully this reinforces the statement that increasing DEX has a higher impact than equipment/cards with ATK+ effects (EDIT) of an equal amount.

if you are going to use a bxb, i re command you switch form the autumn headband to a +9 vanagard helm. the bxb is a sp hog. The vanagard helm make sure you don't run out of sp.

I appreciate the suggestion, I actually do use a +9 Vana for grinding and such. I'm just curious what the best damage items are because I still want to solo MvP with my AS build, and while MvPing I don't need the SP as much. Tried to solo ET for fun today with my current setup XD gave up at floor 45 since I didn't have any ele gears. But I want to do better the next step is to max my AS damage and grab some elemental White Wing Suits. For that case I may switch the midgear for ele resist mids, but my budget won't allow for that yet

Mid: Pollution Black Devil Mask [1] (or) Robo Eye  - ~ 150-200m    Robo Eyes just 30m .Saved almost 170m

Lower: Pirate Dagger (Or anything with +5 Atk) Well-Chewed Pencil - ~14m  

Weapon: +9 Double Kingbird BxB [2] - ~500m    if you only have enough zeny for +9 BXB , then please just use Elven bow

Garment: +9 WWM with FS enchants - I got FS7 for 400m (I think) but it gets exponentially higher from there after u have a good WWS and good bow then u can spend zeny on WWM or just use a +0/+4WWM saved 400m

400m + 170m+500m=1.07b.+ +9BXB 500m budget = 1.57b you can buy a +12 BXB lol

I'm currently using +9 Carat Vana, the autumn was more for theory than anything. I'm too cheap to buy SP items :3

Currently using Robo Eyes also due to low budget. Again, more for theory/something to look at for reasonably ideal setup

I have +9 Elven and +9 BxB and found the damage to be MUCH higher on BxB, definitely worth it (Until I can get +12 BxB)

I have a few basic WWS with elemental cards, I use the +9 w/ Porcellio for general purpose AS (Turn ins, etc)

 

 

And yeah I could afford a +12 BxB if I went naked/mediocre gears but I want all-around decent before I go for an item worth over 1b

 

 

Thank you for the recommendations, I'm just about to start shopping for +12 BxB to start bringing the set together. I'm just hoping my SP can keep up with it

a +12 bxb will help more than any other gear for arrow storm.
