Yup - and if you level it past 99 before changing to homun S, you permanently miss out on homun stat and hp/sp growth.
Be glad only the homunculii are that bad - the whole game used to be unforgiving like that.

So azzy, is it ok if i skip the bloodlust skill? Or is it really worth to get it?
Im going to get sera and ill mostly use my gene for mvp'ing and instances.

You don't need it, but it helps with leveling (increased damage and survivability w/ the chance to drain), since Amistr/Sera won't have any AoE skills until level 116 as Sera.

I just discovered that blood lust doesnt affect the gene, only the homun, so I guess I can get away without it? I just dont have any idea if its worth getting it, maybe those that have it can enlighten me a bit more..

I feel like I'm repeating myself. The skill helps with leveling Amistr/Sera, because it increases the homunculus' damage through the ATK increase and survivability through the chance to drain HP. Keep in mind that Sera won't have an AOE skill until level 116.

It is helpful for leveling the ami/sera, but not endgame (and it does make a difference in leveling, particularly early on - I set it to use only when mobbed, giving it more resistance to getting mobbed to where it's performance starts sucking). That said though, skipping it could come back to bite you if they add extended advancement for homuns, and there's some new skill that synergizes with it.

hmmm yeah i dont think i will need blood lust to aid in leveling until i get poison mist. but as you mentioned, it might be buffed or new skills might be added in d future, then fine ill just painfully get my homun to loyal twice i suppose..
