If it weren't of the iro.wiki which is basically a cheat, then it would be next to impossible to win the quest in a sane way (Kudos to the players who figured out the sequence to kill the damn porings). If you get to the 2nd part of the quest and you fail you are teleported ALL the way back to your last save point.....instead of, you know, back to the npc that started the quest. You are not allowed to use your own equipment unless provided by eden which means those monster on the island can likely kill you because you can't bring your own hp pots to survive.

Bottom line, gravity is going the extra mile to make the job change quest, not fun, not worthwhile, not even entertaining, but TEDIOUS! I am certain that after a couple dozen tries and many hours I can complete a quest that should take no more than 30minutes if it were fair but each time I fail I'm reminded that the devs of this game must be purposefully trying to discourage their players from playing the game, including the paying ones.

Note: Yes this is a vent. I came to this game to have fun but now I'm thinking of leaving. We all are riding the hamster wheel with a carrot at the end, it comes with the territory when playing games, but this is not a hamster wheel. It's a soul crushing test of how much you want to play the game the way you want while being rewarded very little.

Thx for letting me vent a bit.

Pce

Guess I'm gonna make a geneticist then....it's sad tho. Leveling is already difficult and time consuming and now we have to go thru a mind numbing quest intentionally made to be crazy. Meh

You know what also isn't sane? the damage from AS at early levels. With the right gear you can pretty much solo/1-shot everything up to biolabs

I passed that test on my first try. I youtubed a video of someone doing it, then just did exactly what they did.
For the bomb test which most people have trouble with, all you have to do is strategically double strafe/kill certain mobs and arrow shower/push certain mobs out of the way. After you do that you can run through it pretty much unscathed.

Are you still having trouble with the quest? I had some trouble when I went through it, but youtube really does help in figuring out how to get through it.

Check out this video and watch it through to the end before attempting it again:

The poring part gets pretty annoying, but once you get the hang of it it isn't too hard to remember where they spawn each time. I just had this: http://irowiki.org/w...ob_Change_Guide open on my other monitor to glance at the poring spawn part during rounds. If you don't have two monitors, just write down the spawns onto a piece of paper and it shouldn't be hard to get through it.

TBH you guys gave me hope, hope enough to try again with the info you gave me....so I tried again. But no game should encourage you to cheat like this, and no game should have me repeat such a quest dozens of times every 5-15 failing along the way in the luck based hellhole that are these quests. This quest should be challenging but not to the point where they design it to be monotonous, tedious, and the exact opposite of fun in a GAME. This game has lost a paying customer. Doesn't matter to anyone including Gravity if I leave, but I won't pretend whatever carrot on a stick on this hamster wheel is worth the nearly 8 hours I've spent just trying to complete ONE objective. That is a work day on the job.

Having said that, good luck to the players who continue to try to beat the test of endurance. Gravity clearly wanted the quest to be memorable if you pass. Trust me you will never forget dozens of failures and many hours of aggravating attempts to succeed just once.

Bye.

most of the 3rd class quests are poorly designed, iRo should have just gone with the one quest for all classes. Some can be passed just by straight up cheating and the others just take like two hours too long.

I hate being defeated and failing, so I tried ONE more time, by cheating mind you, and I got to the 3rd part of the quest. Guess what happened then? It crashed......just when I thought finally after all that time put into it I finally am finished, but nope just one more thing sends my hope crashing down. I got the attempt to call nil error. I don't know if I fixed it... I WON"T know until I try all that hard work again. Devs really poorly designed this I'd say.

Just fyi, this solution worked for me with the nil error thingy. http://steamcommunit...39199633233738/

Also, I finally became a ranger. It wasn't hard work that paid off that allowed me to win, I cheated. I was able to use my items from my storage such as my slims and fire arrows. Winning the 2nd part was easy. The 3rd part was easier. The fact that I had to cheat either says I'm unskilled with this game or the test is ridiculously hard.

Also, I want to say thank you to all who posted and read this for not flaming my rant.

Thank you,

-Signed: The New Ranger in Town

Not sure if you'll even do this in the future or not, but I'll give you a heads-up.

The Arch Bishop job change quest is gonna be headache-inducing as well.

"Headache-inducing" is the biggest understatement of the decade.

I mean, Jesus F. Christ that quest.

Only had to re-do it once since I just didn't bother summoning the Valkyrie mercenary when I came back, lol.

Just gonna leave this here for anyone who might need it :

For the 2nd part of the exam, the bomb.

As soon as you enter the room/map/place, use windwalk or eden's agi up scroll (if you still have some left), then walk all the way toward the end of that place, where the final npc is waiting. Do this before the mob spawn. Then after the mob spawn, walk back toward the entrance. Double shot or push the mob away. note that Arrow shower also can push the mob.You dont need to kill everything, and if you do need to kill something but run out of arrow, use your birdie.

After arrive at the entrance, talk to the npc to pick up the bomb and start spamming them. Make sure that you dont have any bomb when you talk with the npc at the end of that place.

Also dont worry whether you have skill or not because after this, you pretty much will only use skill only. So yeah.

Bomb test: Raise zeny get Kafra cards take your hunter bow and hunting arrows out of storage and go ham on those mobs
also take some pots out to pot your way through
I've done the ranger job change about 13 times(6 Rangers+friends) and that's the best way to do it..

Ps: when I first did the ranger test everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong!!took me 4-6 hrs to get to test 3.. as soon as I got there the game also crashed on me because I didn't have mercenary configured correctly or something but when I summoned it the game crashed this happened twice to me so I had to mess with the mercenary ai settings :(
