I'm sick of people wanting to sell their -_- and ask for "OFFER"
LIke, btch, what if we don't know how much that item goes for? what if we just came back from the game from a year break when prices were different?
IT SHOULD BE MANDATORY THAT PEOPLE PUT AN ASKING PRICE, THEN INTERESTED BUYER LEAVE OFFER. Isn't that the way most deals work. Would you sell your car and tell someone to leave an offer on it? -_- NO.

most car sales I see have OBO or ONO written next to the asking price
maybe that should be a rule too! Otherwise, just pay what people ask. Don't expect to haggle if you want a price given!

Because they're hoping for newbies to make a very good offer that might be beyond their A/S.
Sometimes if a newbies offers something fair, they can also intimidate a newbie by saying dont low ball, etc
That is why it is also your responsibility to know about market information ie. items you're interested in buying, then make an offer. Otherwise, you can just wait until there is a seller that puts his A/S

Okay lets say someone sells a +12 KK CEB and puts "L/O".
You offer 800mil (because why not?).
They say no. and say its worth 1.6bil
WOULDNT THAT MAKE EVERYTHING IRRELEVANT? WHY NOT JUST SAY IT'S 1.6B OR BEST OFFER?

cuz sometimes people want to judge market demand (or hope for that one guy that is desperate) or don't know the value themselves. Maybe they tried to sell it already. Maybe they just returned...
there's loads of reasons.
I auction stuff a lot without an A/S because I don't really have a value on it. I set the A/S after gauging market interest.

Because I've found personally that if you put 'A/S 320m' people will offer around 220m trying to undercut you by 100m. If you put the same item for sale via L/N/O they will offer ~300m.
True.
What pisses me off is. I put a chat L/O and then ppl come in and say offer. WTF. Don't counter "Offer" on me :V

You cannot just blame on kRO.Why jRO,euRO,pRO blah blah blah have all the new gears and instances ? There is something we don't know lol maybe money , contract or warpportal cannot find the patch notes.

euRO is behind us, pRO was raking in money and so was probably able to make a better case for updates till recently, and the company that administrates jRO owns kRO, so they can do whatever they damn well please.

Was selling a C.AAW Aspd+1 for A/S 850m, and some dude came in and offered 400m then tried to convince me that it wasn't worth more than 450 which was a waste of time...both a/s and l/o chatrooms have their own downfalls.

Sometimes whenever I want to sell something that is not very popular on the market or it has a very high price I use the L/O (leave Offer) to not make the buyer scared of my prices.
Whenever selling a Drake Card, for sure I want to get the max I can, so I can't put A/S 3.5b coz buyers will become scared of my price, but If they offer 2.8-3b I would accept. So its better to "call" the buyer first and after that saying the price you want.
It works good with that Temporal Boots in which is not the best builded ones, like Temp STR AD4/SoL, Temp Dex EA4/RM, you don't put a price because people will always judge your item before offering into it, so you call the buyer and speak to him the "usefullness" of your item and which price you would consider.
But it really pieces me off when somebody is on L/O and you ask the price (coz your not sure how much to offer) and the seller say "Only answer the offers", this is like ~SERIOUSLY~ ?
Asking for offers its not that bad, the problem is when people don't say the price coz they are always expecting something more than a fair deal.

When I got my +12 HF EA9 I was talking to the guy all the days, just looking for his price at the first day he asked my 1.8b on the HF which was a lot expensive, after some days hw asked me 1b, I guess because he got a lot of PMs and were not selling his item coz he was just searching for a fair price, but at least, he answered me with his pretention.
