I hate to be a pest, but could you elaborate slightly. I am trying to make an informed purchase.

HBP has Greed, FAW does not.

FAW can be enchanted, HBP has no such provisions.

Both HBP and FAW give various bonuses depending on base stats and upgrades.

Both have 1 slot.

HBP is currently considerably cheaper than FAW.

HBP and FAW have different looks.

Currently working towards a FS AB.

Do you want lower variable cast? FAW is your choice.
Do you want specifically ranged% increase? FAW is your choice.
Do you want specifically ASPD? FAW is your choice.
Do you want specifically ATK? FAW is your choice.

Do you want specifically critical damage? FAW is your choice.

Do you want MDEF to go with these things? FAW is your choice.
 

Do you want more neutral reduction? HBP is your choice.

Do you want a decent amount of everything if your build allows for it (minus the variable cast)? HBP Is your choice.

 

FAW is amazing at doing 1 specific thing IMO. Having a FAW with different enchants and you might as well use a HBP. Your class and what you want to do with it's build is ultimate the decision maker when choosing between the two.

and i find HBP to be more versatile while FAW is more for specialized builds...

 

but to answer the topic question FAW is not strictly better than HBP.. both have their pros and cons as Gn1ydnu said

 

HBP- better for builds that have a good stat spread and benefits from each bonus it gives

 

FAW- better for builds that specialize in one bonus

 

i prefer HBP as a ranger because my ranger gets bonus from vit,dex,luk, and agi

 

thats +2 Aspd, +10% ranged dmg, +15% crit damage and +10% neutral reduction

Hybrid i use FS10 WWManteau when i plan to AS a lot xD but HBP for defense/aspd

FAW with Spell or ArchAngel Wing with Heal4-5 Enchant

i'm a big fan of the heroic backpack.  As an AB, i would pick the backpack over the faw because the faw enchants does not really offer much that would greatly benefit you.  Spell enchants are great, but you don't get the full benefit from them because of how little matk boosts heal.  A large portion of your cast time is fixed cast time anyway so even then its not really as beneficial as it could be.

 

Backpack offers that bonus neutral reduction, and greed is an amazing skill to have on any character to cover some leveling expenses.

Yeah it does. 1%/ 20 vit. So 6% if 120 VIT.

 

HBP is a flat 10%, so its more, that's all.

Only if that HBP is +9, at +7 HBP breaks even with FAW assuming 100 base vit.

IMO, HBP is great for leveling

FAW is for end game uses

I like the FAW for general use, and I like the HBP for specific situations because that's where I slot in my elemental resistance cards.
