While doing seal quests, as a side effect I collected 2000 KVM badges and was thinking what weapon I should take.

I saw that I lot of people strive to get one and refine it up to ~12-14 which makes me think that it's really a valuable thing to obtain. But checking properties of most of glorious weapons, those weapons can be divided into two groups where the first one specializes in dealing with Demi-Human race, and other one gives some other random bonuses. As much I understand, players in most cases take weapons from the first group.

But I'm not sure which one I should get. The thing is that I don't participate in WOE and PVP (not interested), and BioLab is out of question in the foreseeable future because of my current level. And these cases are the only ones known to me where those weapons have a meaning.

 

Does anyone know if there is any point to get anti Demi-Human version of glorious weapon in this case? Or, is there any point to get one from the other group? If it's important, the character in question is a geneticist who tries to become a MVP hunter.

if you're only going to be a mvp hunting gene no point in getting a glorious weap. there's a whole thread in the class subforums dedicated to maxing out your mvp damage so you can check that out. I think they mainly use RTEs or Erdes

Well, I didn't mean to use it for MVPs (I made a classic RTE with AS cards for that), maybe for normal mobs. I just was wondering if I should find some use for those badges, and a weapon was the first thing to come to my mind.

honestly I'd use them to buy a weapon for a different class. the list of kvm weapons that a gene can use is pretty subpar:

I use the policy "one account - one char" so I don't have any other character on the same account with gene.

Ok, I guess I'll just keep them.

if you want to put them to good use without actually creating chars that can benefit directly from kvm, you can look into converting the kvm down into bravery/valor and picking up some of the accessories; i think those are decent.

Dood cmon, my +12 KVM Glorious Morningstar can do 400k to bio! I think +14 can almost do 500k, you can surely hit 500k with just +12 on SinX eremes using Engkanto's 

 

+13 ea11 Erde hits like 300 max there

 

Gene and Sura can both use KVM mace too. My sura, lv150, hits 1.1m damage on amon ra/pharaoh with KVM and g-fist gears. Its also amazing for bio3/4 hunting - check out my bio4 vid

+12 ain't cheap bro; and not sure how much $$ OP is willing to pump into it either. also per OP biolabs out of question for the time being due to level constraints.

PS did you get your shield back?

Yea I forgot that +12 is a big deal, esp on KVM, I just love my mace so much lol. Like +12 erde EA9 2xAS does 60k to celia, +12 kvm does like 105k XD. Worth it imo even tho mine cost 3b to +12....

About getting +12 - well, probably I could make one, but it seems there is no point to do that before getting to bio

If you have the funds, at least getting it and getting it to +10 while Enriched is in, would be worth it in the long run, imo. Sure, there will be other enriched events down the line, so it isn't super important to do right now, but getting it to +10 now, you don't have to worry about getting it to +12 until you actually plan on using it whenever that is. Could also be useful to use in geffen tournament? I'm not sure, I don't main Genetic.

Yeah, that was one of the reasons why I was thinking of getting one now, while Hammer and cheap +10 certs around.

 

But I can't decide which one to take. For now, my bet is on Flamberge - it's a sword (genes has passive skill to get +50 atk for swords and daggers, but daggers are slower), and the only one which has Demi-Human properties.

For spending KVM's on weapons, Glorious Morning Star I think is the way to go. Useful for Genes ans Suras...even Knight classes, Mechanics, Battle Bishops and Novices :v One-hand, decent ATK, 100% to medium and large, unbreakable. What's not to like?   I got lucky and got it to +10 in my 2nd try and only 8 tries to +11. Haven't tried to +12 yet, but will soon enough.

"Gene's sword atk bonus and +1 aspd" vs "20% stun, slightly better Slaughter bonus, defense bypass and size modifier"... Maybe Glorious Morning Star is a better choice.

 

Still, I have doubts about my luck to get +10 (semi-broken after getting all other stuff to +9, so I'm limited in how many +10 certs I can get right now), probably I'll just end up with +9 and empty pocket

Maybe use a +12 glorious fo geffen magic tournament?, thats the only other place i could think of other than bio or demi-mvps.

Oh, yea, good call HMC. You legit cannot do it on a Gene without it.

Ok, two "votes" for Glorious Morning Star so I guess I'll take this one    Though it's a pity it won't get atk boost from Sword Training.

Yeah, took some time to find out what it is. Didn't check badge conversion part yet but I guess it will take time to gain badges for them if I'll be taking both weapon and accessories. Or maybe I'll just take two Medal of Honour, let's see how much zeny for refining I will have closer to day of Hammer leaving (no point to get weapon now if I can't refine it).

All right, got Glorious Morning Star, to +9 for now. So, I'll be trying to buy certs to +10 from time to time and meanwhile be waiting for seals to be rerolled and collect badges for those accessories, they look quite nice to have (especially when I don't have any worth accs right now).

Ah, true, forgot about being free right now. What are the usual price for Hammer? I don't remember, last time I was using his services was a long time ago. Something like 50k/attempt?

going beyond +10 is 100k a pop, and only mighty hammer offers those services
