sura seems hard to solo lvl...

I'm having a really hard time lvling this sura

currently 107/21

Im trying to lvl flash combo but im dying before any progression is made

2 mobs and im at 2% and its murder on my sp

my gear is decent i guess 

+9 rwh

robo eyes

ebone armor+peco

Stone buckler

+7hbp

+7 carga mace+2 hunter fly

variant shoes(forgot to add those in original post>.<) but thanks for reminding me

90str 

50agi

76vit

24int

67dex

should i have tried getting rising dragon first? to make this easier?

any advice would be great =/

i dont play sura but i think you need to get better reduction. get racial shield, or use hodremlin for universal use.
then increase your max HP, variant shoes is nice and cheap, also i heard max HP will raise tiger cannon dmg. oh, and elemental armor, take a quick research bout elemental skills casted by monster you fight then buy the corresponding elemental armor/card to counter it.

yea maybe its the uncarded sheild...Ill give it a go but still my sp gets wrecked trying to lvl with flash combo. should i re do my stats and go more int?

1. Windmill before FC
2. Use power absorb for SP. 1 zen + PA should be sufficient for next FC even without RD. (1200+MSP)?
3. Screw FC and just manually combo it with lower level of tiger cannon. Requires skill but not that hard. Can pot during combo though it eats your HP

Energy gain, Rising dragon and windmill are very useful skills for TC sura even before FC was released.

would have to spam zen+PA very often for SP upkeep; better not snap too much (or at all) when gathering mobs to conserve SP;

progress is indeed hard without high tier gears, especially at lower levels when FC is not at full potential and mSP is still low (mSP becomes less relevant at later levels with max RD, at that point gears are setup for mHP and ATK for max damage, along with reducs as appropriate,); windmill does help with the stun the higher your base level;

 

in the meantime, if altering setup (ex. vanar, nid garb, thanatos hammer, incu pet - which would be rather unneeded at later levels) or relying in SP pots is not an option (ie. zeny-wise or damage-sacrifice-wise), then bumping up INT would be the only way to solo your way out faster to mid-high levels (50 AGI doesn't really do anything at that level so you could just set that to 1); that said, you'd probably level up fine with TI parties, slow and steady; you're right about shura as being hard to solo level; not like rangers where you could just slap on fairly obtainable gears, WW-set/elven, and be good to go solo early on w/out much trouble;

As ka10 said, you'll be relying on Zen a lot since at max level FC will leave you with 2 spheres, one short for another FC

 

Leave STR at 90, work on your VIT to reach 90-95 and maybe your INT.

 

If you can't kill your mobs with one FC I recommed you get something for non-interruptable cast time, like a Phen accesory or an Orleans Robe.

 

Once you get RD 10 your SP troubles will be virtually gone, also...on the way to unlock RD you'll get GT-Energy Gain, which at the prereq level for RD is enough to provide you with extra spheres for additional FC should you need them.

 

Keep in mind that FC is efficient when mobbing in a sort of high risk-high reward setting: the more mobs you group the more hits you will be dealing and as such you'll have higher chances of your RWH, HF cards and GT-EG to proc. (In some cases I have regained large amounts of HP/SP and most of my spheres after FCombo'ing a group of mobs)

 

And don't forget reductions as you have been told, use them according to element and race of your targets....Reduction gears are actually a must as you mostly tank in parties so is an investment rather than an expense.

oh forgot to say, if no RD yet and you really need 2 FCs to kill a mob, can just cast SSS (uninterupptible) once after the 1st FC, so no need for phen/etc; then just zen when safe/the mob is dead

hi my i ask?

my normal TC demage is like 18-19 to nogg mob

combo demage like 34-36k

but sometimes it just do 6k demage. <------- why????may i know that?it make me got killed :yawn:

your TC essentially missed; check your HIT / enemy FLEE;

TC does have a bonus portion that ignores FLEE (usually 5-10k damage) and is non-elemental (still totally misses vs ghost lvl 3,4 though)

That may be, for tiger cannon at least with the hp being higher, but Flash combo doesn't take the hp cost into consideration, nor does it actually count it as a "combo" so the damage for the tiger cannon portion of the skill is the same as if you were manually casting it.

^ not exactly, FC5 gives +120 ATK so TC casted from it gets its damage boosted

i believe he's referring to max hp, not current hp/hp cost of the skill, which does increase flash combo damage.
