Help! I went ahead and made myself a Taekwon Master (I prefer Star Gladiator over TKM. What do you guys think?), but I can't seem to find any testimony on the usefulness of each build on iROwiki. Some say that the heat build is dead, is this true? I'd also be grateful if someone can give me some advice on the skill build, since the Three Celestial Alignments look overwhelming and I can't decide for myself if I should put points in everything or forsake one for the other....  :wah:

Eighthfonist,

You do not want to put skill points randomly in things not knowing what you want the character to do and be. It will only cost you in the long run.

The TKM can be viable in things if built right. Final note of caution, understand this class is more difficult to get the most out of. Your best friends are IRO Wiki and this forum. Many topics have been discussed here before.

I run around a lot in Glast Heim, Magma Dungeon and the very bottom of Payon Cave just for fun helping others out.

The Heat build is NOT dead it's just not as effective as it was before.

For skills below (just recommendation, with regard to Heat Build). Another build people sometimes use is AGI for fast kicks. Again your choice.

Taekwon Kid

- Pick your two favorite kicks and max them. Most choose Counter (always hits) and then one other.

- Flying Kick

- Tumbling

- Sprint...at least 7 since SP cost is low and you can do Spurt status in combination with Sprint again and Tumbling (to avoid atks...matks I believe).

- Mild Wind....max it to 7 (you'll need Peaceful Break and Happy Break as well as Kihop to level 5 to get Mild Wind) Kihop is VERY power in parties.

- Leap (if you like WoE and being able to get to places quickly)

TKM

- Perception...all 3

- Heat... all 3

- Wrath...all 3

- Courier...up to 9....so you can use Union

- Union (no skill points needed)

***"Protections" are basically a waste and can only be used on their special day on the special map. The Blessings (if you get them) will need to be dropped once you max your TKM so unless you want to pay for Neuralizers or worry about re-stating your character don't get them.***

STATS

See the thread under here about stat points (look towards the bottom)...http://forums.warppo...-taekwon-stats/

Note- the Heat build focuses a lot on raw power (ATK/STR) and AGI really does not play too much of a part as the hits for heat are fast anyway.

EQUIPMENT  (High to Max...for TKM)

Weapon- Books (+9 Hardcover or Elemental Book) with proper race, special, type cards used. Otherwise, go weaponless for Spurt status as you cannot have a weapon for this.

Armor- WoE Plate (if doing WoE) otherwise anything with elemental protection goes.

Headgear- pieces with elemental protection if you are going against strong monsters, has a card slot, and/or adds ATK/STR/CRIT bonuses.

Garment- FAW or Heroic Backpack with proper enchants, refinement and/or cards.

Shoes- +9 Enhanced Variant with Firelock Soldier card or other card of your choosing.

Accessories- Rings with STR, ATK or ATK% increases. Unless you get the God items Megingjod (or whatever it's called). Next would be to get the Glorious Ring/Medal of Honor combo or 2 RWC Rings again with STR, ATK (Fighting Spirit) or ATK% enchants. Gold Scaraba cards add +20 ATK/ -1% MHP if you slot the RWC rings but those cards are VERY cost prohibitive as they usually run between 300M-400M zeny each lately.

Again, look around this forum and the IRO Wiki pages. Lots to learn from. Since you have the character you might as well use them. I have mentioned this before. You need to be strategic in how you play this character when fighting stronger monsters/MvPs...goes without saying.

Recommendations- find some Monk and Priest class characters and party with them. If you choose, "Team Up" helps to combo with Monks (another reason to get Counter-Kick) and can be fun but it's up to you.

Hope this helps.  :thumb2:
