Is chaos getting the rest of them like how thor has them?

I seen some other gears in thor aswell thats pretty awesome.

Are we gonna get those?

it is currently sold at the cash shop (shadow box) which gives random shadow equips.

I don't remember where it was said, but the when asked about putting costume gear in the kafra shop that acted like MVP/God gear, the GMs gave a pretty resounding NO.  They don't want this game to become pay2win.  Despite what some people say this game is FAR from "pay2win".  Anyone who thinks RO is pay2win really has no idea what they're talking about, and should probably go play some actual pay2win games where you see things like needing to pay $ to unlock the ability to level further.

I find it weird that people even care about p2w when they turn hypocritical on a dime and snap up hundreds of dollars worth of enriched ore whenever the event is in, stock up on things like stat foods, abrasives, tokens, scrolls and other consumables, and spend a crapton on lucky boxes with OP hats, BMX3s and certs like it's second nature.

 

Why is paying money even a problem? jRO still works on the time-based subscription model and it has 5x the peak population of iRO over a number of servers, and has even more Cash Shop stuff available and cycling than I think we've ever had go through ours.

But penetration Set its not like Samurai or it is? hahaha Because you need to have a lot of different itens to make the set (As I saw on some forums the bypass defense is only for 1 type monster for each set)

Ragnarok is not P2W

 

You can hit max level without spending a dime.

You can access the compliment of skills available to class without spending a dime.

You can get a full compliment top tier gear without spending a dime.

 

Ragnarok isn't even remotely P2W.

 

Imagine Ragnarok where in order to level past 150 you had to buy a kafra shop item that cost 1000 KP.  That's P2W.

Imagine Ragnarok where in order to use Water DB on an RK you had to buy a kafra shop item that cost 800 KP.  That's P2W.

Imagine Ragnarok where in order to get a card from an MVP you have to have a kafra shop item buff running that costs 100KP.  That's P2W.

 

Calling Ragnarok P2W is downright insulting to the GMs and the work they've put into making this game as fair, fun, and player friendly, as it is.

That would be P2P almost.

 

Yeah you can start com from 0 and never ever use cash, but yeah you will take a year or so to have a medium gear which would not give the chance to win.

 

It can be technically not a P2W Game, but it "behavior" like one.

I don't understand what p2w really is, i mean isn't the "win" part purely subjective, everyone has different goals, everyone has different "wins", what are we winning here? Do i get a trophy if i reach a certain base level, or kill x amount of mvps or players. Do i win life?

Just be happy with the game and have fun, some of you guys make ite sound like "win" is the end all be all of this game, come on now, gosh lol

Not exactly the same but you had to buy Reset Stone (which is technically a Kafra Item) to get 3rd class. You could say that you can avoid it by getting VIP (you still have to pay, for VIP instead of stone) or you get one by buying from other players or by using EMBs, but it it's still pay2winnish.

I don't mean that RO is a complete p2w game (partly it is but tolerably) but that example wasn't the best.

EMBs are obtainable through completely free means, and with the implementation of bounty boards, there's even more ways to get them.

well I'm not sure what it's costing you if you can get reset stones completely free through in game means. time? effort? you're going to be spending that regardless of whether you put in a single dime.

if people are complaining that the very fact that a reset stone is required to get to third class is an indication of pay 2 win then I dunno what to say.

Well seeing that gene has the advantage in walk spd cart boost.

And then they has their automated pet with endure effect.

Why cant we have the shadow bearer effect and the other set of shadow gears?

RO is not a pay to win game. Aside from a handful of items (Enriched/HD Ores (more specifically for +10 or higher) and the weight increase tickets, almost everything is there to speed up game play; nothing more. You can make buff slaves and dual client, or you can buy scrolls for more speedy play. Instead of grinding for hours to get enchant tokens or reset stones, you can purchase them for more speedy play.

Instead of getting gear late game, you can hire gear from the store for... once again... speed play (but people have proven that Eden gears can do a lot)! And all of this remotely doesn't end up in a person "winning" in the game. There is no "winning" in an MMO @_@

Bloody Branches (MVPS Cards), 3x EXP, 200% Gums, +12 KVM's, +9FAW's.

The argument is those who have lots of ingame hours should be on par with people who spend hardly any ingame hours but invest with real cash.
But fact of the matter is you're literally buying zeny.

 

More shadowgears is just another outlet to buy zeny cheaper so you can afford your mvp cards and god items.

A mvp card effect should never be a skill to any class.

And other might wanna argue it down and say its gene traits etc etc.

Same goes for the shadow bearer, its distinct to that set.

If they can allow a class to have it, why not allow the server to have other shadows.

The difference is people who spend $ in game dont about those who spend hours and hours in game to farm items. The opposite case doesnt hold true
