Hi guys, I need your opinion/advice about card on garment and armor.

My ranger reached 193 ASPD, but taking lots of damages from high level mobs and MVPs due to low VIT.

Which card should be the best to reduce damages from PVM & MVP?

Renewal Chaos

Armor – Ghostring card OR Pasana Card

Garment – Deviling Card OR Raydric Card

Some said ghostring card is not worth on renewal because it reduces 25%-30% neutral damage.

However, 25%-30% reduced damage still seems decent to me.

Deviling card reduces 50% neutral damage while Raydric card reduces only 20%.

In other hand, 50% more damage from other property attacks looks like a pain in the ass…

My budget is limited, so I need to make sure which card will be the best choice.

BUT I can’t decide !!! ughhhhh!!! :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

uh ghostring only reduces EQ. it does not reduce normal monster attacks. it's more a pvp situational mvp type card.

i like your name btw.

You should have lots of elemental armors(they're pretty cheap) for different mvps for sure. There is no single awesome armor card. Deviling is pretty good all around if you have the right armor element though.

deviling is for pvp only if an MVP uses a elemental skill on you specially your a ranger your char will die
gr is also for pvp only i think only good for neutral attacks

my suggestion is if your thing is mvp hunting use a sura/genetist for hunting if your mvp hunter is a ranger only a selected from this list of mvp's are available for you ranger http://irowiki.org/wiki/MVP

^no, like Viri said DR is also good in PvM with the right elemental armor (ex. DR+pasana vs those using mainly strong neutral and fire attacks/skills)

deviling is great if you cover your elemental weaknesses, for armor i guess you could try something of more  general usage like peco peco card

it will be reduced but still wondering of the hp of rangers when hunting mvp they cant use alice cards and most likely had a low vit can they survive such attacks? example hunting turtle general even with a water armor or swordfish card can it survive the waterball etc?

^ was talking how DR has its use in PvM in general, not just PvP;

if i did MvP on ranger i'd just focus on hitlocking/keeping safe distance so wouldn't have to worry about tanking directly as much

ranger MVPing is based mostly on hit locking, but you need some vit to not get stunned or get other statuses.

I had read somewhere that GR reduces non-elemental damage, which is different from neutral damage. A monster's normal attack is considered neutral where a players normal attack is considered non-elemental. Which is why GR reduces damage from other players and a few monster's skills, and does not reduces a monster's normal attack.

Other way around. GR doesn't reduce non elemental damage, only neutral , raydric reduces non elemental and neutral. Regular player attacks are neutral, monster attacks are non elemental. You were spot on, just flip flop your wording.

Even ASPD rangers should have a good chunk of VIT. I recommend aiming for at least 80 VIT after job bonuses so that you can pop +20 VIT food to get 100 VIT for stun resist. Anyone walking around with 1 VIT obviously doesn't know what they're doing.

Rangers could get decent resists just by equipping a DR + elemental armor as other people said. This could help against a lot of MVPs and/or their mobs and the math works out to be similar or better than an alice card.
