Hey, Everyone! Quick question here. I'm a pure PVE Invoker, currently at 24k magic attack with an Elga weapon. Working on finishing my solars and possibly getting a PoS weapon.

My question is: would using a PoS weapon be more effective on bosses than the elemental weapon? I'm looking  particularly at Elga, using level 5 diffusion cannon. I initially thought that the elemental damage added on to each hit would make the elemental staff better, but I found out yesterday that the protector weapon has a fair bit more magic attack (I was told 3k, is that true?)

Thank you for your time :)

PS. I know the PoS will be better for healing, particularly with HP restore and Wide heal. I'm not concerned about that, since I usually solo bosses.

I don't know if the elemental damage wouldn't let you have a higher damage output with Diffusion cannon and 700+ element damage per hit, especially if the boss you're hitting is weak to the element you're using. Also you need to take defense of the monsters into account, which can (perhaps) amount to... 20% ? I'm not so sure about it, but if it indeed goes up to 20, probably an elemental weapon would be best.

normal mobs have no element resistance.

element elga will have 630 element damage

630 element dmg will be applied to your normal mattk damage. if you hit 10k with just mattk dmg then

just add 630 to that.

dc is 3x shots so 630 x 3 will be applied.

this still isn't enough to beat POS staff in terms of DPS. even if you equip a 6* element attack on the

elga staff, POS will still do

more dmg considering both weapons are +20.

even with element factored in elga weapon. expect a difference of 3-4k+ increase in non critical damage and 15k-20k crit if

300% cd is obtained. this shows more with double shot.

pos staff > elga staff

Pos weapon is better than element for any class.

Even with diffusion cannon ( by the way, the double shoot is much netter for PvE because the 2 fireballs will it 2 enemies so it does 4 hit per X)

I also think Pos as more than 3K more damage for invokers.
Earth master have 5K more and Sorcerers have 4K more attack, so ~

Elemental damage can't obviously beat Pos damage in PvE, especially if you have some criticals running around.

I would quote someone, but this person weren't happy the last time I did, so ~

specifically, I'm using an ice staff, which in retrospect was a very poor choice seeing how most of the Elga fight is weak to nature.

Anways, I've been using diffusion cannon on bosses, and double shot on mobs. I always looked at it as more effective, although I haven't looked at the math, or anyone's comparisons.

Edit: I appreciate all of the responses. I'm going to begin farming the supplies for a PoS. Which one would be better for single targets,  (level 5) D-cannon, or D-shot? Once again, I'm leaning more or less towards Elga, as the boss has become an addiction of mine.
