Hello everyone,

Had an idea for a mini-game idea. Sorry if this was suggested already.

SUMMARY:

I was playing with some friends today and we did a game of hide and seek in one of the towns.

I know this may sound kind of childish at first but it was really fun.Sure it might require an update to the game. However, the developers could recycle maps (e.g. towns or fields) without creating anything new.

LEVELS: players could pick which one they want.

Smaller map(s) = easy....small, flatter and less obscure areas of the map.

Medium size map(s) = normal...medium size, some hills and some objects to hide behind.

Large size map(s) = hard...large, ridges and maybe a forest or two.

TIME LIMIT:

Delimited by the size of the map. Up to the discretion of players or develops.

BENEFITS:

1) If planned right, players of any level could play together. Players or game developers could determine whether speed enhancement or cloak/hide items could be used. Attacks could be irrelevant or be implemented. Folks have to be aware of the fact other players could be frozen if attacks were allowed. Attacks would likely be betters as disabled to make it equal for all. Just a thought.

2) Prizes- folks who win could get minor prizes. These prizes would not be major game changers like the Battlegrounds. I'll throw out the idea of 10 white potions or something similar to that. This would be setup more for the fun of the game than the result of getting a prize.

IN CONCLUSION...

The mini-game would be easier to play as most folks know how to play hide and seek. Additionally, it would fulfill the goal of growing the game for those folks who simply get on for the community aspect.

CONCERNS

Bots...nuff said.

One more mini-game idea and I promise to stop. ;-)

SUMMARY:

Paintball-like game whereby the characters get a standard weapon. I do not care what the name is.

You could call it "Golden Arrow" if bows are used, "Death Sniper" if guns are used or whatever.  Do not really care much what it's called.

Recommend keeping it simple, recycle maps and anything from the battlegrounds setup. There are other things which need fixing in the game and I realize this.

If this is not possible that is fine. Just throwing out ideas.

MECHANICS:

Same as above, but folks would get like 5 or 10 total HPs. The standardized weapon could be used in two ways.

1) Ranged- would provide 1/2 hit point damage since ranged is safer being further away.

2) Melee- you could smack someone with the weapon. Think of hitting someone with the butt of a gun or something like that. This would cause 1 hit point damage. I only say this since close range/melee equals greater risk therefore greater rewards.

The ASPD is standardized and the cool-down is the same. I'll leave this part of to the developers and hard core players to figure out what works best.

Again, the idea is so anyone could play in a level field and have fun.

I am done. No more ideas here. :-D

Fuyukikun,

That is a really good idea. I must be getting rusty on the first person shooters. LOL

Agree, would recommend spawn places to be random to minimize spawn killing.

Good thoughts.

You could have a hide-and-seek lottory in the form of an NPC that spawns at a random time, once a day at a random point on a random map, at least two maps away from a town, and sticks around for 20-30 seconds to exchange 100-200 junk items (again random, but of a single type) for something fairly valuable.

RD,

That's an interesting idea and a good one at that. I like it.

Keep the ideas rolling folks. :-)

How about an NPC that GMs a Ragnarok themed tabletop RPG; the interface could be like an old text adventure PC game.

Poring bingo:

Register with NPC (different rankings to scale fees with prize quality) and you pick an XY coordinate on a fenced-off grid layed out on the ground. After a fixed duration (10 minutes?) NPC closes sales, and a poring spawns on a random grid space and bounces around for 20-30 seconds before it stops to pick the winner(s).

Cooking competition:
Register with NPC (different rankings to scale fees with prize quality) and get teleported to a designated map. You receive 100 sets of ingrediants and have to use them all before you can leave the map. The same character cannot participate more than once per week. At the end of each week the success rates are ranked and 1st - 3rd prizes are awarded accordingly.
