I assume the bathroy will only be useful for this weeks TI, then next week I'll need something else again?

EDP is soooo expensive to keep going though!

Thanks for your time so far, I do appreciate it.

bathory armor is a very useful armor to have regardless. it completely neutralizes shadow/undead attacks. some of the later monsters that you will encounter have skills of those elements that will knock you on your ass if not wearing shadow armor.

Believe me, the money you make with your GX compared to how much you spend when using EDP will be totally worth it.

Right I just had another go in mid TI.

With EDP active I was cutting down huge groups very quickly, and keeping my HP up too it seems (keeping an eye out for silence!).

I only had 2 poison bottles though, and no-one is selling any on the server.

Without EDP I burned through 200 white pots in about 3 minutes. Basically RC and white pots were just being perma spammed. Not sustainable at all :(

Oh and to add - if I'm carrying a load of white pots I can't make money either, because I'll quickly hit 90% weight and die!

With EDP you usually leech so much HP/SP, so in big mobs, it procs really well, recovering so much. Just be carful no to kill strong mobs TOO quickly. Remember that when mobbing, monsters give one last hit before dying that cannot be leeched out of the same said mob (because they died), so you'll be left with not full HP. And if it's too low, you may not be able to tank the next mob. There's a threshold of when you should use EDP and not use it. Look for it when mobbing in new places.

Also, I carded my +9 RWH with Marduk X3 Helps SO much.

Try farming Aloe Leaflet :3 They're as powerful as whites and weight WAY less. With RC you should farm them no problem. RC->Greed->Tele. With your gear, you shouldn't be using any consumables at all. Dedicate 1 hour to pure farming or something like that. You can come out with +500 Aloes and that's like 2-3 rounds of Nogg or TI.

Good Job Calza! So on the overweight part. Buy Aloe or slim whites, or just bring less regular whites. u will just need to go to town more often. I like slims because they dont weight as much. Same with aloe.

Guess I need to wait for someone to start selling EDP again!

I'll keep an eye out for that card too, anything to reduce incoming :)

Get a +9 triple malicious jur or +9 quad malicious specialty jur if it is really not sustainable due to other issue.. This way you will nv need any pot anymore.

you should always try to be on edp, it makes up in cost for all the slims you'd use otherwise.

I've got a triple malicious Jur at the moment, and in mid TI it simply doesn't leech enough without EDP.

Two questions now if you please:

Will a +4 Thanatos dagger with one HF card really be so much better than a +9 Jur with three?

I've got a Bathory card to help me in the TI's. What armor is best for it?

any armor will work. if you got the funds you can use a mora enchanted nab or sapha cloth to increase your damage output.

are you using any leeching headgear like rwh or vanargand? I found 3x hf jur + +9 vanargand was fine, but I've swapped to +9 rwh once I got the 1x hf thanatos katar and that works perfectly well too. keep in mind that thanatos has hp/sp leech on its own so you're not really losing 2 hf cards when moving from your jur. the much higher attack on the thanatos katar also makes the amount you leech back significantly higher.

I've got a +9 Vanargand currently.

So apart from this weeks TI, how will I know when it's best to use the Bathory carded armor?

you can look up the abilities of monsters in the various databases like db.irowiki.org or divine-pride.net

shadow armor is excellent when fighting monsters that use shadow abilities like dark strike, dark breath, or dark thunder. it makes you completely immune to them.

Bathory armor is awesome. Most leveling mobs will either not use elemental skills or use dark elemental attacks, so Bathory in armor is super helpful. Also, it will help you in other instances, most importantly, OGH. :3 Another alternative is Undead armor (Evil Druid), making you immune to Freeze and Stone Curse, but it comes with weakness to fire, so watch out.

Problem being, I wont know if the abilities are Shadow or something else.

Or are they always pre-fixed with "dark" ?

Oh and probably as important - is there anywhere I'm going to be much weaker?

you can look up a monsters abilities on db.irowiki.org, then search the abilities on irowiki which will tell you what property it is.

all elemental armour changes the user to level 1 of the element. you can refer to this page for the damage values:

http://irowiki.org/wiki/Element
