Here are my ideas on what buffs could be like on ROSE, this new system would fix many many of our game problems and be a first in ROSE history! Clerics would finally stop being buff slaves!

So... here we go :

Remove buffs as active skills from the game! this is the solution!

Instead of that, buff would be brought passively within groups by the different "class" composing it. (I know this sentence is absolutly not clear, so I'll try to explain my idea... usually when I do that ppl still fail to understand what I tried to explain... but let s give it a shot)

Soldier : HP, Def, Ap, Str.

Hawker : Mvt Speed, Atk speed, Dodge, Dex.

Dealer : Acc, Sens, Con, Crit.

Muse : Mdef, Int, MP, Enhance damage.

This system is inspired by Stat Buffs, ofcourse, but I have the feeling that this system would work the most if charm wasn't playing any role anymore on buffs, this would ofcourse create a riot... but would be so much more healthy for the game overall, you want to push player to group with other active players, and not with standing chars staying in junon that someone is logging using 5 accounts, this is really bullsh*t... in wich other mmo did you ever see that? lol.

Anyway... all this basically mean that :

A Soldier would always have his HP, Def, AP, STR buff on

An Hawker would always have his Mvt Speed, Atk Speed, Dodge, Dex buff on

A Dealer would always have his Acc, Sens, Con, Crit buff on

A Muse would always have his Mdef, Int, MP, Enhance DMG buff on

While grouping with a different "class" the whole group would would gain the buff corresponding to this class!... Meaning :

If you want to have HP, Def, AP, STR... you got to have a Soldier in your group!.... Mvt Speed, Atk Speed, Dodge, Dex.... You gotta have an Hawker in your group... and so on

This would encourage greatly player to have a way bigger class diversity set up in their party, wich is absolutly great for the PvM and PvP aspect of the game... No more group with only Raiders or god knows what... If you wanna be efficient, you gotta party with other active players, and have subclasses from every main class in your group.

If players would really start to rage too much about the "charm doesn't affect those buffs" I guess... The only viable solution would then be to... obviously, let thos buffs be affected by charm, but limit their effect  to a radius of let s say 50 meters. This way... If you get too far from your group... you loose the buff effect those would have gave to you... Making you think twice before roaming solo in PvP or making it impossible in PvM to just leave random classes at spawn and go do your own things alone.....

because... THIS HAS TO STOP, ROSE IS AN MMO, WE GOT TO PLAY TOGETHER.

PS : I orginally posted this in a thread related to AA and NPC buffs... But I have the feeling this idea deserves a thread of its own, and it wasn't exactly fitting in this other thread. This change would indeed fix the whole GA buff/no buff problem, but it has absolutly nothing to do with NPC buffs.

This is just how buffs work in all other games, almost all classes have buffs, well we actually have it, but then we have cleric who have all those buffs togheter.

But I don't believe it work, what is gonna happen? Guess what, lot of people will have cleric, scout, champ, bourg full char for buffing. But oh, this is how the things run actually.  :heh:

Ideas like u mentioned just work when you're no way able to log multiple clients then you will with no excuses need to play on a balanced party.

don't forget there's also solo farmers, removing the buffs from them clerics (for buffs mostly only) will made a huge disadvantage for them, only if Devs do something about bosses, the idea is good for those who have that lil group and play together, but also we should think in the others disadvantages such as this one i'm talking about, that's good for PvP and PvM (DGs and GA PvP, TG, Pk zones as groups) but for some farmers it isnt (depends)

if only Devs would put a life steal system then any class could survive in almost any boss without problems making cleric have some FREE sp for def passives (lifesteal for physical attacks such katars, bows, etc, spellvamp for magic attacks type/skills types maybe such Dual, mages, clerics)

p.s - i might have misreaded, but about the groups, is only need to have that class in group or they also need to be near the player for get the buff?

Lemme know what you think.

Your idea is very good indeed, and goes more or less in the same direction as mine. But, unless i misread what you proposed, your idea would be that everyone would be able to learn every possible buffs, and this is something that I do not find so healthy for an mmo. In my opinion, having each class bringing their own buffs to the whole party would encourage way more people to start playing together and drop the class discrimination going around be it for pvm or pvp.

So... yes, apart from the fact I would prefer each class to only be able to learn their class specific buffs, I definitly agree with your idea.

@ Castanho : As buffs would be, like Feuer described better than I did myself, some kind of "aura" skills, refreshing themselves regularly, you could not just log on several accounts to have every possible buffs, unless you would be planning on moving around with all those accounts non stop following you.

They would need to be within the Aura range to give the buffs. This system is indeed making it harder for solo players, as they would have to move around several account and not just let them afk at spawn, but we are playing an mmo, and I have the feeling that the purpose of an mmo should be to encourage people to actually play with eachothers! Why couldn't you hunt bosses grouping with clan mates of yours?

The art, playstyle and environments are pretty unique. Holding onto garbage systems is just bad business sense. However, updating them into some new and efficient while being balanced and holding onto the graphics look is a good move if you ask me. Especially when you consider an aura concept, that's not done very often, especially ones yo don't even have to cast, that's incredibly rare, if it's ever been done.
