I think I relied on Ti's too much I cannot seem to keep my persistence in solo lvling at all. I stay at Scarabs and do BB's but I seem to have so much Sp issue and the dmg im putting out just seems so lack luster....My gear is not the greatest but i do have +7imp spear and a +9 RWH and a +9 i Hbp but everything else is lackluster.....any advice on gear i should work on to help improve my dmg? I also use a Rosa Shield of Gargantua since scaraba are insects. but it just feels like ill never even past 150 let alone get to 175>.<

get a +7~9 hunting spear w/ fs enchants, it's a better leveling weapon than imperial spear.

would it make that big of a different because if its only gonna give me 2-4k more dmg id rather not wast the money im not rich lol

Probably won't make enough of a difference in the number of hits required to kill the mob. If you're going to go for a high refinement, the Imperial Spear is more worth it to upgrade too. Then your high-upgrade Imperial Spear will probably beat a low-upgrade Hunting Spear because of the extra ATK.

I don't think many people solo past 150 in general.

Consider using healing boosters that make potting cheaper like Witch's Pumpkin Hat + Alarm Mask. You can swap between that and RWH mid-battle with some practice to take advantage of both hats.

if i were you i'd sell the imperial spear for a decent hunting spear instead. what the imperial spear excels at is mvping with vanishing point, outside of that it will be inferior atk wise to the hunting spear at the same refine levels (as well as being much more expensive). unless you're a dedicated mvper it's not particularly useful.

Assuming you're in Chaos, purely "leveling gears" aren't worth much. People use them to get to a high level and then throw them away. But they keep "mvp gears" forever. That's why Imperial Spears tend to keep their value better than Hunting Spears. The nice thing is it's also a decent "leveling gear" too at the same time.

The Hunting Spear is definitely slightly superior, but economy plays a big factor on how you play or chooser your gears too. It'd save you the hassle of re-selling out the Hunting Spear too.

I have no idea if Thor players have the same mentality as this, but it would make sense to me if it was the same idea.

yea as much as id love whatever dishes out the most dmg the amount i originally spent for the spear is way higher than what it is on the market now so i kinda dont want to get rid of it ill just stick to over upgrading it I really dont have the funds like that on chaos.

i heard ea helps with the second hit of ob is that true?

I do actually use vp a lot to finish off whats left after ob spamming as well

the thing is, an imperial spear isn't really considered "mvp gear" unless it's overupgraded with good ea enchants. i'm not sure the demand for a +7 imperial spear would be very much higher than the demand for a +7 hunting spear.

 

the price of imperial spears will drop over time like most other gear that can be obtained relatively easily, so if you want to cut losses better to sell it sooner than later. if you wait longer it's very likely that the price will drop even further.

 

but @op if you're really adamant about keeping the imperial spear, don't let me stop you. you can try getting a caramel card for more damage on scarabas, although carding it in your imperial spear would be a waste. you should get an incubus pet for your sp issues since they're really cheap right now, or a +9 vanargand helm if you can afford it. you could use a porcellio carded armour (if you don't already) and bsb + shackles if you really need the extra atk. temporal str boots with fs7 and muscle fool are pretty cheap too and add a pretty decent amount of atk, especially if you have 120 str. 

 

assuming you're using overbrand to level, make sure to have maxed spear quicken for the damage boost it gives. i also like to use moonslasher and cannon spear alongside ob because they help quite a bit with damage too.

I forgot about caramel card thanks for the reminder and i do have a +4 hunting spear with no chants so i can dabble at it thanks for the info guys I also think that going to be my next goal...getting those temp boots

what AoE do you use for leveling ?

if you're using Overbrand you can try use Thanos Spear with HF card.

I barely use HP/SP items when leveling my RG

It's a fairly easy quest to do. You only need to be 120 to do it. After a week or 2, you will have enough to make the weapon yourself. I doubt you will have many issues and it will give you a tiny bit of exp.
