Hello. Some time ago now I made my first iRo character ever after only been on and off playing on various low-high rate privateservers. So my experience isn't that great on how to go about leveling from scratch while finding a build/gear that will work later on with a low budget (as you can imagine this being my first character).

 

Currently I'm an assassin B87 J50 and working my way up to 99 using a simple dagger build with the eden daggers. So my current questions lies with having to rebirth at 99 and how to go on around there with a low budget.

 

My current concern is what build is recommended to a new player after rebirthing as High Thief/Assassin Cross. I won't have much money to buy any gear, so I want to play the most efficient and economical build there is as a High Thief/Assassin Cross. I know the eden gear seems pretty solid for leveling, but then again is katar build better than dagger in terms of efficiency with a low budget?

 

If anyone have tips or links I would really appreciate it. Like a stat build throughout the levels, skill build, katar or dagger, cheap gear for a starter. 

 

I have pretty good awareness of where to go leveling up to 99 so I think I will be fine making my way there when I rebirth thanks to a good guide I found.

 

Is it recomended to rebirth right away after hitting 99 or do I take advantage of this level some time before changing into High Novice?

 

I think my main goals is to some day do the classic MVP's with my friends. I currently haven't at all grasped the "New World" leveling zones and MVPing and it all seems very very far away to focus on for me right now.

 

iRo is great fun because you actually have to put alot of effort into what you are doing, but man it can be a really hard game at times because you are supposed to know about the end-game before you have ever experienced it the first time. Therefore reaching out to experienced players I think can help me alot not making the wrong decisions and leading up to having a broken character that I've invested countless of hours into. And I am also eager about learning more about this game but it seems pretty hard doing all that on your own without any kind of experienced guidance.

Hey man! Fellow GX here. I just made my second GX. We are able to level up really really fast.

This is the way I go about leveling up:

1-15 spores

15-30 poison spores

30-60 orc dungeon

60-85 sidewinder

85-99 Low TI

For orc dungeon, you will need a cranial shield. (Thara frog card)

For sidewinders, ( brutal shield)

You can solo al of this a be 99 in no time. You also want to become a GX as fast as you can, you don't want to spend much time as a sin 99 because the items u can hunt at those levels are very limited and mostly cheap.

As for weapons, get a haedonggum with andre cards. This is the cheapest of the cheapest, to help with dmg output.

For skills u want meteor assault maxed out.

This will allow u to wear a shield while you level up, hence increasing your survivability and ability to mob and kill with it.

Try to get an orc baby card which is the cheapest u can get for neutral reduction.

That sounds promising are you talking about all the way from High Thief or from the point you become a Guillotine Cross?

 

And correct me if I'm wrong, becoming a GX is done by reaching lvl 99 with a SinX through a quest or something (no rebirth needed)?

Correct , you will not need to rebirth again, you will do a quest to become GX.

2. The idea is to level with a shield and sword from the moment you are a Thief correct? I wonder why we choose sword instead of a dagger that you can slot with Andre cards (for double attack procs)?

Even as SinX and GX I am supposed to level with a sword and shield by AoEing down mobs with meteor assault, correct?

 

3. If this is the case, how am I going to statbuild my character? I have absolutely no idea! Give me some pointers as to what stats to aim for at the different levels: 1-15, 15-30, 30-60, 60-85, 85-99 etc.

 

4. Spending job skills in the SinX tree, how many points in what and what abilities to get? Can you link a spreadsheet of a proper build please?

 

5. What card gives the shield stats "Brutal"? And also, what shield is to be used. A slotted buckler? Is it important to upgrade it?

leveling an assassin or sinx with a shield seems horribly inefficient to me, you might as well just roll a rogue then.

being able to equip two weapons at once is one of the advantages a sin has over other classes, so you're gimping yourself by eliminating another source of attack power. don't need a shield to tank hits when you kill them quickly. thief classes also have a significant flee advantage over other classes too.

sins also have a lot of damage bonuses they can get via skills when using katars (not to mention grimtooth and sonic blow require katar to use). a sin has doubled crit rate when using katars as well.

you can also reset your skills an unlimited amount of times as long as you are 99 or lower so you can play around with either a DD or katar builds. I just wouldn't recommend using a shield unless you're tanking for a party or something. and even then, two fortune swords would be better in most situations than a shield.

Necro, it may seem horribly inneficient to you but i became level 99/70 in a day all the way from level 1 by using a shield since I was able to tank more mobs. Really efficient in my book. I also tried with 2 weaps instead of 1 and the dmg difference was not much.

Yep, depending on the mob. Either orleans or phen but it is interruptible

Iirc they still have the hypnotist NPC in Izlude, you can respec your skill points any time for free as long as you're 99 or lower. Try out a lot of things while it's free!

I also suggest doing Bounty Boards from lvl 1 to 99, even to 175 because it gives you Eden Merit Badge that you can trade with Reset/Magical Stones, which you can sell for zeny. TI also gives you Reset Stones but TI only available at level 70+ while you can do Bounty Boards from level 1.

I figured out that with VIP at around level 110 I was making 15% in ten minutes in mid TI so don't knock it - I don't think that kind of rate could be sustained in bounty boards!

Oh cool thanks for clearing this out for me! I had no idea you could reset your skill points for free under level 99 that will help out alot.

 

It seems to me I will have to try out some different kinds of leveling once I reach 90+ .

 

And by the way, I just started gaining some capital because I'm selling some Enriched Elu/Oris at the market. So as for equipping gear after the Eden gear, what would be the best assuming I'm going to use katars or daggers? I've seen many play with Krishna katar.

try to reread a few threads in this section. When i first play my mech, i spent a good 3 hours+ to read all of mech's threads in the merchant section until page 20.

Some thread might already answered your questions, some might even give you additional info.

and btw, you might considered grimtooth as a viable leveling method.

Yes I have tried looking through some posts, but I kind of stopped when I realized almost 90% of them only touches lvl 100+ GX. I found no good threads aimed to answer my questions and was hoping someone could give me some good and easy advice to follow Somwhere this may have been buried but I just don't have the motivation to go through it all.

 

Grimtooth sounds like a cool way to aoe level before I get meteor assault.

keep in mind you need to have a katar equipped for grimtooth. you would also need to be fighting monsters that are not detectors.
