*disapproves programs for automation in normal gameplay, thinks about creating an approved autopot program*
The logic never ceases to amaze me. Then again, iRO PvP is already a joke so meh.

Just wait for Oda's thread on the subject of that, we haven't even defined the scope of the project yet.

Think of all the keyboards you've saved for bringing this
Nobody goes to PvP without spamming them potions anyway so why not. But then again, some people will argue that switching between casting skills and potion spamming is a unique ability.
+1 to autopotion for me since I don't care about PvP or WOE for now.

I feel this could open the path to bad things in the future, -1 for autopotion.

I feel this is just going to encourage more cheating... Just Warpportal/ kRO can't put a stop to it. So if you can't beat them, legalize it? It's like you can't stop robbery, then make a law that makes it legal? :u

I dis agree on any programs.
From the alche pet program, the feeding program, auto pots program, auto find program, auto trade program.
Stupid buff bots program, farming program.
And any other program that assists one in playing the game with them not doing it for em self.

Are we also going to legalize NDL, packet inject and whatever heck other cheats there is out there too? :I

What would be the objective behind developing this?

Again none of you know the details, so hold your doom and gloom predictions and wild conspiracy theories to yourself until you see the details.

Fier, nodelay and packet injection exploits are things we have been reporting to and are requesting kRO make improvements to stop them. This is separate from us determining, with feedback from the community, that an in-house developed automatic potion would be more fair and safe for players to use under specific and limited circumstances as RCX was.

People are going to do it anyways. It's the creator's fault for allowing those things to happen. How can you deem something fair when others have an advantage over you? Where we draw the line is the better question.

In today's Tiki Tues, Oda mentioned that making a legit autopot program was something he could have Section 9 work on. Thoughts?

Whats the point of having potions if they're automatic? Why have a flipping gamer mechanic if you don't play the game? This is retarded and shouldn't have been humored at all, let alone this much.

Robbery is a poor example. Look at legalization of pot for a better example.

hotel, I was just thinking along those lines.
1) Disable pots, berries etc
2) disable stasis, guillotine fist, deadly poison, and suicidal explosion
3) increase the woe skill reduction from 50% to 80%
4) See what WoE is like.

There will be an on off switch, you can protest by never turning it on.

The problem is, no matter what way you look at or propose this it translate to if you can't beat them join them.
And it is worrysome because what's to stop this as being used as a future argument of illegal activities? I know this hasn't been flesh out yet, but there isn't a lot of ways to beat around the push around the functions of "autopot"..

There IS no great options only bad ones, its the choice that was made give the amount of resources that can be hoisted at it. If anyone has an alternative they can implement on a closed system game like this with no source code, please speak up. I myself spent years on this issue, there are other options but most will either generate false positives and thus no confidence in the system, or hurt more players than it helps. To put it in perspective, we chose the shiniest turd there was. Amnesty to cheaters? Some people should crack open a history book once in a while and see how many illegal activities were put to a stop by offering something of an alternative that didn't involve punishment or reprisal.
