Use Thunderstorm on ant eggs at anthell till you are level 30, then you could try orcs.

you have to plan your future build and get prereq. for that
http://web.hc.keio.a...skill4/wlk.html <-warlock (wizard)
http://web.hc.keio.a...skill4/sor.html <-Sorcerer (sage)

thats a simulator up to warloc/sorcerer (but you would want to trans first), i reccomend you to get cold bolt or safety wall, this is what i would do: http://web.hc.keio.a...qcBfNaxbn97cHcY (guessing you wanna be a wizard, if wanna be a sage, i dont have enough knowledge to tell you a good build, but i know you should max all your bolts)

but its actualy up to you, you have to chose a build just for lvl and trans how soon as you can, maybe you should add cold bolt lvl 10 and get siroma clips (increase dmg of cold bolt if im not wrong) and hunt fire monsters, but its up to you. Also, lot of ppl decide to drop safety wall, but i love that skill, plus the fact that now wiz cast time is longer its pretty usefull even if you have a phen accesory.

Since you're probably going to trans, concentrate on your sage or wizard build first. Then, think about warlock/sorcerer build.

For wizards :

Since you already have firewall lvl 10, I would suggest this : http://web.hc.keio.a...KnndodqabcJEKgK

If you want to skill reset with a safety wall build, I'd suggest more: http://web.hc.keio.a...enoXfNdn1cKGKhX

For sages :

In my opinion about the build above, too much quag is an overkill. It doesn't slow monsters more, but it holds you from using quag again for a long time, among other bit of changes, but if you are planning on leveling on party, any build is ok as long as you get firewall and storm gust, for a wizard.

I'm not very knowleadable in mage classes, but this is what I did for my scholar when I was a normal mage:

http://web.hc.keio.a...skill4/sag.html

Fireball (not as weak as prerenewal), earth drive and thunderstorm are your mob killing skills, and firewall is the way to keep the mob away while you cast. Some level of free cast is to move away/around while you cast.

In my opinion, sage->scholar->sorcerer has a much brighter future than a wizard->high wizard->warlock.

Others can advice on skills (also you should check others builds at http://forums.irowik...ead.php?t=65981 or ask there) but just to pitch on getting to High Wizard. I found the posts in this thread helpful:
http://forums.irowik...ead.php?t=72425

Personally I never used anything but Level 10 Firewall/Firebolt up to Level 81 and what I did was:

Training Grounds
(some do Mandragora at this point)
Rocker
(some do Muka)
Ant Hell (mostly the ants because the eggs were taken at that time by AFKemists etc.)

Then I did the Level 40 ~ 70 Eden equipment quest that takes you to Orcs and levelled there for awhile. http://irowiki.org/w...quipment_Quests

Hode

Geographer (whilst levelling on them you'll get Maneater Blossoms which you can turnin at Eden Group at the Level 55 ~ 70 Collecting Missions http://irowiki.org/w...Leveling_Quests

Mi Gao

Thats pretty much all I needed on my endow slave but you could do Stapo and later (if you're brave) Pingicula to 99 with continuing the Fire skills vein. But by then you should have filled your other skills in (such as Lightning/Ice) and could do something like Siroma then for the last 5 levels or so Magmaring as the iROWiki thread suggests.

Then do it all again to 99 High Wizard.

http://rode-r.doddlercon.com/monster

P.S. Kadnya thats the link to the page but to make a link showing your skills you have to fill in your skills then click the "URL" link to get your link code.

Before you get a skill just for ant eggs go check that map does not have afkemists at the eggs already. When i went it was and i had to just melee the ants instead.

Yes it does : http://irowiki.org/wiki/Quagmire

Also, so you can cast 3 quag at a time so it doesn't really prevent you from casting quag again.

A build with Safety wall is even better IMO even in a party (you can cast it on the tank), but there's the blue gemstone cost associated to it.

That is exactly what I mean: quag effect on PVM lasts fully duration, even if the monsters walk off the quagmire. In PvP, quag effect lasts only as long as players are standing inside, and players wil easily move away. In neither case there s a benefit for having higher levels of quag

High levels of quag in pvm are only good for lowering MVPs flee. High levels of quag in WoE are only good to set as a small temporal disruption. And you will not woe on a wizard.

Other than that, you want the ability to use quags fastly, to have a good mob control. 25 seconds is a looong time reuse, for minimal benefits.

kad is right, for the purpouse of decereasing movement speed, lvl 1 is better, if you want to decrease dex/agi (or whats the same, hit/aspd/flee, and casting time in pvp) lvl 5 could be better, but just to lvl, lvl 1 is the best choice, but higher lvl combined by swalling yourself while casting can be a good idea to.

Yeah, I just read to whole thing. I thought the movement reduction speed was associated with the -50 AGI, but apparently not. Also, I just read this "Quagmire cannot reduce said stats of monsters by more than 50%, and those of players by more than 25%" which can be a little bit troublesome.

Updated link : http://web.hc.keio.a...KnndodqabcKHxgK

I don't like firewall either way (even vertical), and I prefer water ball to quag with safety wall.

Really odd advice I have read here to be honest. Now either path you take some skills are a must.

Fire Bolt 10 - Usually the first skill a mage gets due to easy passive, non-cast sensing earth monsters or Immobile ones. I know everyone tells you to go after the ant eggs early on but while they are good these are usually taken by dumb Alchemists afk leveling their Homunclous's. It's better sometimes to hunt on Comodo Field 08, which is just outside Morroc to the south and west, you need to talk to an NPC on the west side outside Morroc. This is because unlike in the Ant Hell this map has no Aggressive monsters like Familiars to make you have to worry about potions. The Ant monsters, Deniro (red)(31), Pierre (green) (32) and Andre (yellow)(33) are all weak to fire attacks because they are Earth Property 1 monsters, which means fire attacks do 150% damage. They also pretty much have the same stats/exp and drops barring 1. You can start hunting Deniro's at lvl 16 then Pierre at 17 and Andre at 18 getting full exp. You can stay there till your in your 30's if you want.

Ant Map (Ant hell entrance is in the top right of this map)
http://rode-r.doddle...view/cmd_fild08

Wolfs - Ounce you hit lvl 33-35 you can hunt Wolfs on Moc_fld03. Keep the strawberries they drop for good zenny later. Don't sell them for less than 2k each. I know theres venders their that will buy them right away but they will just turn around and resell them for more most of the time. On Valky these sell for 3-4k each easy and even more on YMir server. Wolf map is South then West of Payon. Watch out for Argos, FWall then FBolt them so they can't hit you. If you don't have FWall yet just Fly Wing away. Leave the Steel Chonchon's alone unless you can 1 hit KO them as they help each other out if 1 starts attacking you all on screen will as well.

Wolf Map
http://rode-r.doddle...view/moc_fild03

Grove - Ok now ounce you have hit 40-45 you can start hunting Grove monsters (Flora not till 44). Best map is Comodo Field 01. Warp from Prontera to Comodo, then go through the East cave to get here. Groves are Earth2 element so take 175% Damage from Fire. Easy map as the only aggressive guy can't move lmao. Flora on the same map as well ounce you hit lvl 44 for the stems, maneater blossoms and witherless roses. Pretty simple to hit lvl 50-55 here.

Grove Map
http://rode-r.doddle...view/cmd_fild01

Hodes - At around 50 you can start here if you are getting bored you can start killing Hodes. Best map for this is Sograt Desert 17 which is from Morroc 1 map south 1 map east and 1 south again. Be WARNED, Sandman and Frilldoa roam this map as well and they are aggressive. Fire Wall and FBolt can be used on Sandman but Cold Bolt or Frost Diver should be used on Frilldoa, frills and Sandmen can use Cloak to hide their approach while still moving so be careful. While Sandman have better loots they are harder to kill somewhat. If they aren't much of a danger to you and you want to try to get more loot head one more map East to field 17 (listed below). Less Frill's here but LOTS of Sandmen.

Hodes & Sandman
http://rode-r.doddle...view/moc_fild17
http://rode-r.doddle...view/moc_fild16

Geographer(73) - Juno Field 11 - pending

Cold Bolt 10 - While most build guides tell you that you should get Fire Bolt and Lightning Bolt so that you don't have any particular weakness Cold Bolt is actually a lot more useful than Lightning Bolt ESPECIALLY if you go the Wizard path. This is because Wizard will get Juptiel Thunder which is much better than Lightning Bolt since it has Knock back affect and at does 3 hits at lvl 1 and 12 at lvl 10. If you go the Sage path then getting all 3 bolts maxed is the best idea.

Metaller - You can start on these guys from lvl 40-45. These guys are an alternative to Groves, they are Passive Fire element1 guys so will take 150% damage from Cold Bolt. They can be found on Comodo Field 09 which is actually just 1 map south of the Ant map above. There are ants on this map as well but still no aggressive monsters to really interfere and endanger you.

Greatest General(55) - Payon Forest 10 - pending

Grand Peco (75) & Goats (80) - Juno Field 08, Juno Field 11 - pending

Will finish up other monsters later, or you can look them up yourself if you want. Numbers in brackets are monster lvl, you can start hunting a monster 15 lvl's below but 10 levels below gives best exp boost.

EDIT: The major problem I have with Lightning Bolt is that most Water passive monsters are Cast sensors, meaning they know if your casting at them and attack you right away. The highest exception to this is magnolia which is lvl 53 until you reach Siroma at lvl 98. Full list of Passive, Non-Cast sensing Water monsters below from 1-99. Lol only 12 results so you can see why.

Oh yes just in case you have made some mistakes in your Skills you can reset them for free as long as you are NOT over lvl 39. In Prontera just North of the fountain in the center of town on the left (west) side of the road is a NPC called Hypnotist who can reset your skill points. Basically in order to use her though you have to put all your equipment in storage and items to, weight should be at 0 (this means you can keep on the Eden Gear as it weighs nothing).

Skills needed for Leveling as a Mage whether going Wizard or Sage, also at this point until you Transcend your stat build should be Player VS Monster really with maybe a few MVP skills, WoE skills/builds should wait until trans'd:

Fire Bolt 10
Cold Bolt 10
Fire Wall 10
Fire Ball 5 (pre req)
Sight 1 (pre req)

Done at Job level 37 for all of this.

Now if going Wizard you will want to add:

Lightning Bolt 4
Thunder Storm 1
Stone Curse 1
Napalm Beat 1
Frost Diver 1

You will still have 5 skill points to spend as wanted if you goto Job Level 50 (Which is really a MUST for mages). Most of these are Pre-req's for Jupitel Thunder, LoV and Storm Gust, Stone Curse is for the Earth Spike, HD and Quag skills.

Sages in addition to my Mage skills will only need:

Lightning Bolt 1
Stone Curse 1

to make sure they can get the rest of their skills. Although Keep this is mind. Maxing Either Thunder Storm or Lightning Bolt should be looked into. Maxing Thunder Storm gets over my main objection of LBolt since is a Ground targeting spell and monsters can't "Sense" it coming. However if you go the Hindsight Build you may want LBolt maxed but only if your going to have a Linker Slave &/or Spouse.

Remember that even if you eventually don't like the build you chose ounce you have Transcended you can choose differently.

Hope this helps out as well as my lvling tips, lmk.
