June 22, Patch 1.50 Had something written up for this, but lost it. Nothing too surprising happened, except maybe the continued sustained growth of Invokers. This time I included the link to the spreadsheet for easy viewing so you don't have to look up the numbers yourself, though it's always good to check. The sheet will have all the relevant graphs as well.
So over 300 new characters made the 4th Job change in 2 months. Nice 36% gain overall, with most classes having roughly equal amounts of growth. Pallies ballooned 50%, with 56 joining their ranks. An additional 66 invokers arrived as well, no idea why on that one.
The number level 70 chars also did a sizable jump, with a 52% increase. Savages uniquely have a high proportion of their level 70s at maximum experience compared to everyone else. Sentinels and warmages also continue to be neck and neck as well.
April 21, Patch 1.41
Spoiler
Intro Rankings were finally updated during patch 1.41 and a huge amount of things changed from the last time they updated (roughly 6-8 weeks ago). Most noticeably the amount of capped players has shot through the roof, thanks to f7 being introduced during the interim. This thread is to note and discuss the current trends in class usage. Below are a couple of charts I made after crunching some numbers from the ranking board. Enjoy!
The above is simply all the 4th Job classes currently in our server. The two obvious outliers would be the popularity of Invokers (17.7%) against the rare breed of Destroyers (5.9%).
Above lists all the level 70 characters. As noted above, we have quite an influx. The column to the right lists the number of capped players (level 70 with 100%) and an interesting pattern is that all branches (besides Dragoons) have 50% or greater of their 70s capped. The other category are 70 characters that haven't job changed to 4th job yet.
nicely done :F I must say though since being here since day one in THQ Pallies used to be the LEAST seen along w/ grens. pallis def. have become a much more popular choice.
Don't woo too much, I for once did all job change to all 8 chars and can tell you for a fact, "personal opinion", that my priest its the most boring of them all, only 2 good use for it's xxxxxxx spam and heal-revive. Priest to me are so boring, you need zero talent to handle them, lol... main reason people gets them its because they lack skills for combos. Good char overall its nice to see some reflection, but destroyer its actually a really good char, a shame not too many use them. My preferred chars its the savage, followed by ninja, then warlock, all 3 lvl 70. Anyways thanks for the chars.
Not too many changes overall, but there was a big jump in the number of maxed out paladins. Invokers continue to be the most popular class by far as well. Since the charts are pretty similar and you can see them with the link above, I'll just post the graphs that show the growth and changes that occurred over 2 months.
I'll update the OP as well with the update and spreadsheet info. Also looks like the rankings changed already from last week when I input this data. Asked Aramis if he knew anything about how frequent the rankings are updated, but he wasn't sure either.
By looking at this data, 24% of the people were have reached level 70 for patch 1.41, and now as of 1.50, 27% have reached 70. I would of expected a bit higher increase in the percentage of people getting to level 70..
Wow i always thought people disliked pallys
i remember in THQ... It was so hard being a pally, people would kick me out of the party all the time even if i were a decent lvl and the limit was one pally per party if they had one.

And then the Revenge of ParisPaladin's came. Then it evolved into Dragoon Saga.
Pretty simple, all I did was open the rankings (ESC -> Rankings) and went to the ones for Exp. Then it was just a matter of seeing how many #1s there were (capped players) for each 4th job class, as well as in total. Made sure to line them up for accuracy and wrote down the numbers.
Updated Spreadsheet with July 18 when rankings updated, will get around to updating OP later on. Was glad they updated them right before the level cap was raised and everything else that comes with professions. Will be interesting to see how many capped players we'll have by the end of the race to 75 event.
