To clarify, you can either play on a TV or with the screen of the Controller.

Only if you are sitting in your living room. It's not a portable like it looks. Also that feature won't be available in all games. This is how they appeal to the "core" audience. With another control gimmick. Notice how Wii U sounds like Wii 2? >.>

Oh well i will wait until i see some gameplay footage to pass judgement about the console, the concept is kind of interesting, the Tv screen for the action, and the screen in the controller for the inventory, etc, i have to admit that the third party support titles are big, Arkhan City, Ninja Gaiden and maybe more. The conference was not bad but they use the same strategy, they focus too much in the controller, just like with the Wii mote to shock people and make them talk about it.

The console itself screams "VCR!" to me for some reason.

And LOL at the flat Gameboy (the controller).

I'm curious at the cost of having a tablet for a controller, having to buy another controller can be quite a financial pit fall. Can't wait to see it at E3.

They are appealing to the core by finally making a console with graphics that can match the PS3 and Xbox 360 now.
I mean finally, 1080 HD! They'll be able to open the market to sooo many more developers.

I'm excited to see how it works and the games they will develop around the new controller. Should be interesting to say the least.

Also, yay for new smash brothers to come.

Honestly, I prefer the Wii-mote.

But, that's not going to change what Nintendo is doing, so I guess I'll just wait and see how this all pans out. If the new Zelda and Metroid don't look good enough to me, then screw it.

It looks to me like you can still use the Wii-mote if that's what you prefer, the new remote just gives some games better advantages. I mean they did show it being used along side other regular wii remotes in a lot of the demos. It seems a bit bulky and uncomfortable to use through an entire game though. I'm hoping they realize that and don't make any games that rely entirely on the new controller. x3

I liked it with the wii zapper though. It's like your own little sniper scope. Pew pew! :3
