I am posting this here for posterity.
This post does have a message contained within, albeit fairly anti-iRO. Heres hoping that it does not get deleted.


Playing Ragnarok Online (on iRO anyway) does have real world consequences, whether you realize them or not.


Perhaps some awakening might happen to someone who reads the following AIM log.
Perhaps some game mechanics might be changed because of this?
Perhaps nothing changes at all?

Does not matter to me, as I am done with iRO.

Anyway, I had a great time, up until recent events, during my short return to RO.
Everyone I had met and was on friendly terms with, it was a blast while it lasted.


I present the official WHY SUPER AZUSA QUIT chatlog. Names and a few certain details have been edited.

Your logic is flawed. If money is tight, why pay? Ragnarok Online has given every opportunity for you to play without spending any money. However, it was upon you to spend your own dollar. Gravity did not force you to spend, spend, spend. You knew this going in that the upgrade NPC is a gamble. Even before the Mighty hammer and such, the regular 0 to +10 refiner in Prontera never guaranteed upgrade success so what makes you think that's not gambling?

I'm not one to pay REAL money for an MMORPG, and if you wanted to take a chance you could have bought kafra items through vendors. All and all, stop being so butt hurt that you lost money in a game that no one forced it upon yourself.

I think it's mostly a safe way for not falling back.
If you delete everything you have, you have to start again from the sketch.
So it's "I have to do all of this again".
If you keep your characters, it's more like a "well... I could play again, for 1-2 hours maybe... just going in..."

Basically, it's like stopping drinking or smoking.
If you intent to stop, you better get rid of all your alc or tabac first




Anyway, I can totally understand the reasons. If you loose controll about it, you should stop it.
I have much respects for that.

But what I don't like is to say that RO is purely "Pay to Win".
You can buy everything, even WPE (and therefor VIP) with Zeny. If you're working on earning zeny, you can afford anything without spending a single Dollar into the game.

It's everyone's decision though, and I have to admit, that I'm paying alot and I'll check on what I spent till now too, didn't knew you can check this btw XD
And I most probably won't like the result...
Than again, RO's my one big hobby since years, and I'm checking by "borders", not spending more than a certain amount of money each month on it... and I think that's fine.
Anyway, that's just me, hasn't to do with you or your decision... ^^

ok, just checked what I've spent since I start playing in 2010 and... lol...
I spent much less than I expected to pay actually... I thought I might have spent like... 3 times more or so...
I'm kinda feeling relieved now XD

about DLCs nintendo told that they never will put that in their games, WICH actually its true, no one of their games have DLCs to pay (wich its bad and good..........)
