The Jelly beans you see today were not always as they appear....

Back in the early days of the Akram Kingdom there was a high demand for crops and meats. One such crop was Beans, they were an essential part of a normal diet back then for young children, who disliked the taste so much they would rather do chores! One day a one such child had gotten so disgusted by the beans that he took his a years supply and left the village of Adventurers to go bury them far away. He traveled the outskirts of the Adventurer Village for a while still protected by the influence of the Village guard.

As he left the outskirts and the guards influence he began seeing more creatures that he had never seen before, they appeared to be worms of various sizes. From worms the size of you fingers to worms the size of a full grown Human being! These Worms seemed to like the smell of the beans and started following this child for a while. He began to get curious as to whether they would eat them or not so he could stop his travels to bury the beans far away, so he dropped a few and kept moving forward for a while then looked back. To his surprise the worms did not stop to eat the beans but kept coming after him! The beans that the worms slid over seemed to turn a reddish hue.

Well from this point the child had figured out that the worms were not interested in the beans as he had originally thought, but instead were after him. So he did what any young child would do and ran. With the load of beans on his cart he was slowed down and exhausted fairly quick, but he kept going because he knew the worms would be there behind him before long. As he rounded a tree and headed South he found a giant waterfall.

It was here he had decided to make camp for the night and climbed up a tree for protection against the worms during the night. In the morning he had expected to see the tree surrounded by worms trying to get to him, but instead he saw nothing but the waterfall and trees. It was here at the base of the Waterfall he decided to bury the beans, so he began digging a large hole. When it was around lunch time he was done digging but had become very hungry, when he went to get some of the food he had packed it was missing! Had the worms eaten it instead he wondered? Then out of the corner of his eye he noticed something move, and slowly get larger. It was a Bean! A bean was growing right in front of his eyes, and it grew arms and legs and a face. Flabbergasted by this sight the child fell back into his own hole and just stared in amazement as the Bean started jumping around and then it turned to him and spoke.

"Why have you brought us all here young child?" It asked. The child shockingly replied "I don't like the taste of beans so I came here to bury you all." The Bean kept jumping and thought for a while about what the child had said. "Well now I think I can help you there young one, Fetch me a drink from the water at the bottom of the waterfall there and bring it to me." The boy went and got some water for the bean without asking why he needed it and brought it back quickly. "What are you going to do to help me get rid of these beans?" the boy asked. "Why I'm going to give them a chance!" Replied the Bean. As he drank the water the Bean walked around the sack of beans and dropped some water on them. Soon more of the beans were starting to change and grow!

Soon every bean in the sack had got out of it and had grown to be around the size of a small child. While the original Bean had grown to be the size of one and a half grown Men. He declared to the Beans to enjoy life and started his jumping once more. Soon the entire batch of beans was hopping and bouncing, then from inside the woods came red beans riding the worms! The worms left as soon as the Red Beans had gotten off them, as if they were scared of something. When all the beans had finished becoming aware of themselves the Giant Bean grabbed the wooden bat the child had brought with him and asked what it was for. The child told him of a game were one hits a balls and another goes and retrieves it. The Beans were fascinated with the idea of this "game" and asked if he had a ball with him.

He grabbed his ball from the cart and taught the Giant bean how to hit the ball, and the others how to throw it back. Soon they were playing the game like they had known it from the start. The Giant Bean hit the ball so hard one time that it hit another bean and it fell down, to everyone's surprise it bounced! One by one they started falling backwards and learned their skin was rubber like. The Giant bean had decided at this point to call them Jelly Beans. In the end the child had said he had to go home and the Jelly Beans followed him there, when they got close enough to the Village of Adventurers they stopped and said they would go no further. When asked they said it was not their place and said their good byes to the child and left him to go back to the waterfall.

As far back as anyone can remember the choropys have been around in tales and recordings. Are they as old as we are, what made them so big compared to other worms, and why did we start riding them?

Back in the olde days before the kingdom was started and it was just a bunch of villages looking to protect themselves from the outside dangers. They all seemed to have an abundance of worms in the soil so they fished in the rivers, steams, lakes, and oceans that were around. Forging trails to the water generally provided large amounts of stone or wood to use to help with the villages supplies along with safe ways to get down to water sources.

One day while clearing out a path to a new watering hole a few young men found a cave entrance that looked like it hadn't been used in years except for tiny holes the size of cans. They pondered what could make a hole that size so round and what all could be in the cave. They went back to the village but had decided not to tell anyone about the cave. They grabbed some supplies, a few swords, shields, rope, torches, and headed out to the cave again. On their way they kept thinking there could be a great treasure inside the cave lost to the times!

As they entered the cave they tied the rope to a tree near the entrance and carried it along with them to mark the way out. Not long after entering they noticed there were more worms gathered here in the caves then they normally gathered anywhere else. They kept going further in the cave until they ran out of rope, they fought over going further or leaving to get more rope to be sure if returning. In the end they kept going and left the rope on the floor, the worms were getting thicker and longer this far in the cave.

As they continued through the cave they found a giant waterfall and doors that lead to nothing. Strange portals that didn't appear to work any longer, and bats that liked to bite them. The first few bats they ran into were no trouble easily defeated. As they progressed further the bats behaved more aggressively and took longer to hit and take down. When they finally reached the main room of the cave they were tired and beaten.

To their surprise the worms were as big as small trees when they entered the main chamber. They posed no threat and just appears to eat the bat guano and strange mushrooms growing all over the cave. The deeper they went the bigger the worms got and the more they began to notice the three. When they reached one part there were spotted worms the size of cows, or horses...one of them thought it would be fun to try and ride one. He was the youngest of them and had trained in riding horses, so he went to the spotted worm and tried to hop on its back to find that it did not like the idea of being rode or him being that close. It lashed out with its tail and knocked him back a few feet but didn't pursue him, but he was suborn and had his mind set so he tried again but this time he bribed the worm with mushrooms from the cave. While it was eating them he snuck around it and hopped on its back and held on but the worm didn't move and kept eating as though not noticing his weight on its back.

When the worm finished eating the mushrooms it noticed the man on its back and tried to get him off, finding it harder than it had thought it went deeper into the cave and wailed its cries. The other men ran after it but were cut off by the other worms who suddenly didn't seem so calm and nice. They were stuck fending for themselves against the worms. The worm and the man riding it went into a side chamber and there in the center of chamber was a huge nest of worms and larva. The worms being born were bigger than small trees and the mid sized ones the size of small horses! The parents (spotted ones were males and the normal ones females) were the size of carts! The man quickly thought they might be able to use them to replace the horses in areas the horses couldn't preform well in (later replacing them all). The only question was how to get them to go with him and help them. He then thought if what their food source was, if they controlled the food they might control the worms! So he hopped off and ran back the tunnels and halls to the main chamber and found the others backing out on the other side fending off the worms. He ran over and started fighting the worms from behind and they beat the 5 worms while they were distracted by the newcomer to the fight. He told the others what he had seen and his plan and they agreed and started gathering all the mushrooms they could find and left the cave.

They went back later with more men to try and force the worms out of the cave to the giant stable they had made for the worms, which they named the Choropy stables after the young man who had rode one. Choropy lead the men into the cave and started revealing his plan to them. When they reached the main chamber there weren't that many there so they all did what Choropy had told them too and took a mushroom and fed it to the worms and while they were distracted hopped on their backs and put reins on them when they finished eating. Made of Paulina wood the reins were the best around and the worms couldn't bite through them. The first few to be rode didn't seem to object once the rides learned how to control them. They took the worms back to the stables and the rest went further into the caves for the rest. Once in the side chamber with the nest the men were told to grab at least one make and one female so if all else failed they could breed more worms. So after they got a few of each roped and taken back to the stables they went for the rest of the worms. The worms seeing what was coming sent their spotted males to hold off the men while the females and young worms left through a back entrance, one they had all left the males ran for it.

When they left the caves the men felt both defeated and yet victorious they had a few worms in the Choropy stables to start breeding and they could always catch more when they needed.

The choropys were breed and taught to haul carts, plows, and to be ridden from an early age so they would not disobey later in life. They lived a surprisingly long time and once the mushrooms took off in the planting season they were as good as tame. Later on another expedition to the cave to look for treasure turned up other surprises, with the choropys gone goblins had taken over the old cave and made it their own. They attacked all that tried to enter the caves inner chambers.

The world has only recently been brought the wonder that is the Flanae, a Plant type creature that is sentient. It uses its flower petals and seeds as weapons, both of which are seemingly endless supplies.

The Flanae has always been in the world, but only recently awoke due to Aura feeling bad for them being trampled under feet and carts for all those years. They were first conceived to only let wandering people know they were there so they could walk around them instead of on them. Soon after they were brought to life the Devil pest plague came around and corrupted them into the evil Village attacking plant infestation you see today.

They are a multi intelligent species, the youngest of the Flanae are often docile to the elders and stand near them ready at a moments notice. The Flanae are usually 1 to 2 years old and are not capable of thinking for themselves.

Red Flanae, roughly a 3 to 5 year old Flanae. They have started learning more, and are more aggressive towards Humans and Visitors. They will still follow the Big Flanae orders though.

Old Flanae, about 6 to 8 years old, they are highly aggressive and easy to agitate. Be warned they can sometime hold a grudge for a long time! The Old Flanae has learned to think for itself and only follows the Big Flanae when it wants to, or during a fight. As the Old Flanae grows older, it grows in size to almost double its height.

Big Flanae, 8 to 10 years old, they are the perfect plant fighting machines, quick, powerful, and scarey to look at in a fight. They can follow you for days and lose your trail only when leaving their home areas, though you probably wouldn't see them coming after you due to them being so slow. As the Big Flanae grows older it slowly shrinks back to normal size.

Elder Flanae are the eldest Flanae still alive, they can range from 11 to 20 years old. When there is a conflict they are the ones to solve it. They are capable of Telepathy with the other Flanae. When the Elder Flanae out grow their usefulness they go on a journey and never return. Presumably they die in a field or forest.

Flanae are one of the most feared species but their blood* has some healing properties used in medicines for healing illness, and to help close wounds. There are a few farms that try to mass produce this but it is illegal due to the side effects it has. It can make you hallucinate, have spasms, and on rare occasions even die.

*The Flanae don't really have blood, it is more of the water they absorb from the ground and is then changed while the plant uses photosynthesis for food.

Pumpkins have been a part of Halloween for years, and in the Universe of ROSE is the same. You won't see the natural flames burning inside these Pumpkins though, as Edeline once cast a spell to bring them to life for Halloween. She miscalculated the spells power and they lived long after the spell was originally supposed to wear off. Edeline had decided to bring them to life as a prank on Melendino, who secretly hates pumpkins due to the color Orange! At first the Pumpkins were only hostile towards Melendino because Edeline knew she was Evil and was trying to harm the Visitors Aura created.

Once Hebarn saw the Pumpkins he knew he had to have them used against the Visitors but how could he do this? So he disguised himself as a Visitor and asked about some Old Magic that Edeline had researched a long time ago. Hebarn had to prove himself worthy of the information so he turned Melendino into a Vassal for him to use to prove his worthiness. Melendino showed such promise Hebarn let her spirit go and she worked with him, he gave her special powers to assist with his plans of learning this Old Magic. As both were working on learning this Old Magic they had to help with a Potion, and Edeline kept giving hints as to how to make the potion to complete the Old Magic spell.

LSs9nKv.png

Hebarn starting making his own potion before she was done teaching him the way to make it and it ended up being to strong, all the monsters around the Pumpkins where starting to be affected by the Magic! Choropys were attacking once loved Humans, Honey Bees started attacking the Honey Farmers, Jelly Beans grew more despicable, and the Flanae learned how to move slowly by moving a few roots at a time. As the Pumpkins expanded their range to the Valley of Luxem Tower Pomics grew more aggressive, Honey Bees started to become warriors with their stingers, and learned how to regrow the stingers after they had been lost in battle.

Hebarns potion had some strange effect on some Pumpkins. They would burst into flames, or expire and burn with a ghastly black flame and be reborn stronger than before. A few rare pumpkins were given Tiaras with magic imbued gemstones for greater power, these few were named Evil Jack for their glowing evil eyes and vines they used to move and attack with. Edeline found this out and was very angry with Hebarn and Melendino, when she went to confront them they had amassed an army of Evil Pumpkins to wage war against the Visitors.

Edeline wouldn't stand for a war brought on by her teachings. She went and made a great potion and gave it to the smallest pumpkin she could find, once it had drank the potion it started to grow into a Grand Pumpkin. This pumpkin was the strongest creation she had ever made with the concern of a war against the Visitors. She went with the Grand Pumpkin to try and talk Hebarn out of this war he so desperately wanted, but he would not give up his twisted army or goal.

Edeline released the Grand Pumpkin in all its glory and it was taking many pumpkins out but it was also receiving more damage than it could sustain for the duration of the fight. When the Grand Pumpkin was taken down Hebarn cheered his army to strike down Edeline and remove his only opposition, but the Grand Pumpkin was not the only weapon Edeline had, her trusted Tortoise companion had a taste for Pumpkins and was pretty hungry. Needless to say the pumpkins stood little chance against the Tortoise while Edeline was busy making another potion to make another Grand Pumpkin to aid in the battle.

She didn't have a pumpkin with her this time so she had to capture one of Hebarns, with her cunning she trapped one of the Evil Jacks and when she gave it the potion its effects were altered by the evil inside. It became an independent being and choose to end the fighting once and for all, with a single jump in the air it landed causing an earthquake which every pumpkin and Edeline's Tortoise fell into. With the fighting finished the Grand Pumpkin (II) choose to keep guard at the Cave of the Dead in the Desert of the Dead. One month every year the Grand Pumpkin comes out to fight off the Visitors and the Evil Hebarn.

Edeline managed to get her Tortoise back from the earthquake and went into hiding for so long people forgot who she was and what she did, when she returned they just called her the Mysterious Traveler, perhaps she has more roles to play in the future?
