hi =).....i am new to ragnarok and have a couple questions, that i hope the thief community could answer. i have done some research and read some guides but i am still unsure of some things.

1. i am a little confused with class change, is the order i am suppose to go in: thief -> assassin -> transcended assassin -> guiliotine cross? Is the transcended step neccesary?

2. i keep reading about daggers and katars, and about the skill rolling cutter. if rolling cutter is katar only, then after i job change to assassin class, do i drop daggers and use katars only, because my final class will use katar? or do i use w/e is best then when i get to gx use katars only?

3. the crit sin idea confuses me. does being a crit sin mean, u r exclusively a katar user? or can a crit sin be either a katar or dagger user?

4. stat build, from what i read str/agi/dex is important with some vit. so if i was aiming to mainly be a pvm/mvp type sin/gx, is that still the way to go.
i currently have am 60/1 assassin with 29 str 73 agi 10 vit 30 dex.....so after i get to 90ish agi, should i concetrate in str next? is my vit too low?

5. i do not have any zeny, or items, and only plan on improving myself through what i find, so what is the best course of action i should take to get to gx? follow eden quests? grind certain monsters? hunt certain items/gear from monster drops?

6. do i stick with the eden dagger? or should i use the jur(3) i got from sin job change? as in can i go dagger build as a sin, then go katar build as a sinx/gx? or do i have to decide now what weapon class to go?

thnaks for your help, and sorry if my post came across as confusing, becuase i am confused about the whole crit/dps, dagger/katar, class change thing.

1. Order of classes: Novice, Theif, Assassin, (rebirth) High Novice, High Thief, Assassin Cross, Guillotine Cross

2. A lot of the high damage skills as a GX (guillotine cross) use katars. There is a dagger build in the wiki http://irowiki.org/w...uillotine_Cross but it seems to be mainly for PvP/WoE. I will make a dagger GX to test that but haven't started as of yet.

3. Can be crit build for either weapon but crit dagger will negate the double attack skill and probably do less damage. I'll test it later. With the Mora gear, your crit is pretty constant. I use katars and drop most targets in less than 4 seconds at base 105.

4. My friend has a 150 GX with the base stats: STR 100, AGI 90, VIT 86, INT 50, DEX 82, LUK 64. This build uses all available stat points and can be mended to fit your gear and play style.

5. Eden quests are the easiest way to level if you don't have the right gear to survive mobs 10-15 levels above you. Eden gear will get you by but potions will get expensive. Try to get some one to discount potions when you need them. Have them price it b4 they buy in case you don't have the zeny to cover the cost. Most gear that drops from lower level mobs don't sell very high anymore. You can still make a little zeny off of some, but I wouldn't grind sohee for a slotted muffler like I did pre-renewal anymore.

6. If you want to dual weild daggers as a sin, you can. If you go katar, make sure you boost katar mastery for improved damage. When you rebirth, all your stats/skills will be reset. If you go dual dagger and don't like it, you can go katar the 2nd time around. I personally like katar builds better.

All of this info is from personal experience. Some might disagree because of their own experience. But I have played katar assassin since 2005, been through renewal, and still love katar build over dagger.

What server do you play on and are you VIP?

The best way for you to lvl your sin to 99 katar and the skill grimtooth.

Basically go to a high monster density map. mob up monsters hide and spam this skill on them.

This is quickest way to solo because

1, hidden while using it so no fight or damage from monsters
2, kill large no of monsters at once

Sounds like you're a new player low on zeny with basic equips. That to me would definitely mean you should go katar - because a dagger build needs two daggers and they're usually more expensive.

Eden gears should suit you well for now but you WILL need upgrades to all of them after becoming a GX. Going sin to GX is possible but ill-advised for a few reasons, namely:

1. you won't have accumulated enough z to buy gears for the much harder monsters
2. you'll be missing out on additional skill/stat points and other buffs that you gained as a trans class (SinX) that brings over to GX

New players who start with nothing and without assistance should do the following:

1. Watch the market (ragial), look for what sells (i.e. who's buying stuff, e.g. stems, fabrics),
2. Find a map with monsters within their range they can kill comfortably for good exp without burning pots,
3. Sell the drops to these buyers,
4. Save up for better gears.

TLDR:

Go katar (very few GXes play double daggers for good reasons). Go SinX -> GX. Find a map to level with good drops that won't burn pots. Plan your AGI (flee) ahead of time, based on what that map needs. VIT isn't important if you aren't planning on getting hit. STR is number 2, DEX is a close 3rd in terms of stat priority.

Crit katar GXes vs Rolling Cutter katar GXes is a touchy topic which I won't go into, but a big decision on whether you should pump DEX or LUK when you reach that stage.

Is the transcended step neccesary?

The answer to this is always a BIG BIG YES!!!!!

Two main reasons right off are that your Trans 2nd Class has unbelievably good skill you miss if you don't and that Transcended (aka Rebirth) characters get 25% more HP/SP.

Basically a regular Assassin at level 99 has a base of 6038 HP and 410 SP.
A level 99 Assassin Cross (aka SinX) has a base of 7547 HP and 512 SP.

Not to mention the fact of that massively used skill Enchant Deadly Poison. This skill is used a lot to increase damage as a GX, basically gives you 4-5* damage for 1 min so you can see that without it you would suffer greatly.

Here is a link to ALL the bonus's you get with Transcending or Rebirthing (They mean the same thing). As well as link to the walk-through on how it's done.

i guess should mention also.

if you're really low on funds and need an new gear, try doing the eden equipment quests. http://irowiki.org/w...uipments_Quests

although these are obviously nothing close to what you want to end with, the upgraded eden equipment can do a fair amount for you and they arent hard to get. with full eden gear you can probably do as much as a lower-mid tier geared player.

plus they're free, weigh nothing and you get exp for doing the quests.
