Just a heads up.

• EXP and Drops event ends
• Alchemist Lists reset
• Daily Quen quest rewards will all return to day 0 (quarterly resets on him) you can continue to work up from there.
• Easter Quest will go in
• Clash of the Titans event will continue (Gramps Turnins)
• Eat Gear will start to ONLY take gear that is not sold via NPC. So if you have high upgrade NPC gear eat it NOW.
• Mesmerist in Eden will go behind the desk rather than in the middle of the room.
• Brasilis Murder quest will continue 1 more week.
• April fools orcish voucher will end
• Guardian will do "bleeding" less often.
• Ymir, will get the voting NPC by the hands that guild leaders can vote to do 1 or 2 woes on Saturday.
• Mystic Amp scrolls and boxes should be both tradable and vendable.
• We made some changes to the GX job change for Valk to try and diagnose and hopefully fix why it keeps locking up on Valk.

Please test the summoner on Sakray and give feedback on the price and the method of actually summoning. In the end it will be an instance so the whole wisp to waiting room will go away any how.

Will the eater discriminate between equipment that's dropped by monsters, but can be also found it shops?

Can you also look at the GX job change in Valk server, the part where you talk to the NPC one south of Rachel to be warped. The quest seems broken and not allowing anyone to proceed.

monsters dropping npc gear are identical items (ITEM ID) to what is in the store so they would be treated the same.

Since the eat gear will only accept monster drops now, perhaps it can be changed to allow level 1 and 2 weapons? Minimum could be +8 or something.

Not that big a problem, really. Does it sell for 10z? Does it have an extra slot compared to NPC gear? Done.

an armor without a slot is likely bunk unless its a special one (like vidar's mant etc).
most lvl 3 weapons are not npc weapons, especially if they have 0 slots.
all lvl 4 weapons are monster only

Just use your head and you won't be confused.

check db.irowiki.org, if there are 2 versions of the item, the one with more slots is the monster version.

Well, the problem is that you basically always have to do a search every time you want to upgrade for certs. This really isn't a problem for me, but I find it to be an issue of usability for a majority of the players (I'm a software tester, it's in my nature to look into these things).

I mean, there's a rather significant section of players who don't even know the existence of places like db.irowiki.org. Not to mention it's kind of oddball to rely on an external site to proceed through such a thing anyway (RO relies on external sites a lot, but we should be finding ways to fix that problem, not exacerbate it). It just seems like there might be a lot of people who will upgrade gear to +8 (an expensive ordeal, relatively) only to find out they can't trade it for a cert.

Although it would also be a pain for the Eat gear npc to tell you every armor and weapon it can eat. So perhaps an option should be put in so you can show the Eat Gear NPC a random equip(doesnt have to be upgraded) and you could get something like

"The Mimic looks at your +0 Cotton Shirt [0] with a disgusted face. It doesnt look like he will eat this even you did upgrade it"

I think you are exaggerating the issue. It could take someone 2 hrs to compile the type of list you are talking about. I sincerely doubt they can pay developers to do something that pointless. A volunteer might be more likely to produce such a list.

How hard is it really? There isn't that much NPC gear.

muffler
manteau
sandals
shoes
boots
hat
cotton shirt
jacket
mink coat
silver robe
saint's robe
chain mail
silk robe
etc

Come on just talk to any shop and you can see whats there. if it doesn't have a slot its an npc gear. I think you are greatly overestimating how difficult it is to know if a gear is npc or not.

You can still farm this npc using npc gear too. use socket enchanter outside the weapon shop in payon to add slots to sandals for example and you will be able to upgrade that at eat gear.

at least change the mimic to give cert like it did before the first change or:
+6 win=1 cert loose= 10 elus
+7win =1 cert and 10 elu loose= 1 cert
+8win= 2cert and 10 elus loose= 2 cert
+9 win=4 cert loose= 3 cert
do not accept weapon lvl 1 and 2.
and plz make a post on forum with detail info about the armor/weapon that mimic accept

Come on it isn't to hard to check if something is a monster only or not drop before you upgrade something.

It isn't about how hard it is, it's about how a very large portion of players actually don't use external websites to check for stuff. Even when it comes to checking on official forums and or even the main website(which half of that stuff is wrong anyway). yes, the hardcore probably have like 4-5 Ragnarok specific Bookmarks. And those players get ahead since they have more knowledge. But alot of players fall into the "Casual" spot rather than even "Above average".

And even if we say a player in game can look at the stores. Its' not like Prontera or Eden has an NPC that sells all NPC equips. You have to go to certain cities to get certain weapons. Morroc doesnt sell spears, Prontera doesnt sell high level wands. You go to Alberta for high level axes. So your essentially asking a player to check every NPC shop just to see if the Mimic will eat their weapon. And thats assuming the player even knows that certain shops only sell certain items.
