Hello. I now have a level 30 swordman and I plan on making him a crusader in due time. I have a level 106 GX and I have been farming zeny so I can get a head start with my swordman, by buying the right gears. At the moment, I am contemplating if I want to buy the Crusader card set. Would this set be worth it if I plan on going Grand Cross built?

My plan B would be going with Matyr/PecoPeco cards for more HP. An Elder willow or Grand Pecopeco card for headslot. And other slots I have not thought much of.

Any advice would be much appreciated.


Crusader Set:

Archdam Card:
- ATK+10
- Cast Time +20%
- Armor compound

Permeter Card:
- +15% to Shadow Attacks
- +15% to Undead Attacks
- Headgear compound

Freezer Card:
- Max HP +300
- If +9 or higher, 10% more Bash damage
- Footgear compound

Heater Card:
- CRIT + 3
- Perfect Dodge + 3, if worn by a swordsman class
- Accessory

Set Bonuses:
- INT+1, STR+1, DEF+2
- SP Recovery Rate +10%
- Rapid Smite/Martyr's Reckoning Damage +10%
- Casting Time -10%.
- When equipped by a Crusader, Holy property armor is given to him/her.

Don't go the grand cross build.
Go the AGI/STR Spear Quicken build with Holy cross. Hellfire is a cheap spear for this build.

I wouldn't bother with a class card set... There are better alternatives.

Plus you spend such a small amount of time as a first / second / trans class, if you're only looking for the Grand Cross effect it's not really worth it.

I play an agi character everyday. I wanted to make a GC Sader for a change of pace. I don't want to debate on which build is better, just some advice with the card set.

GC/heal sader was pretty good and fun pre-renewal, but post renewal I think they would be a lot harder to level. Before renewal I lived in GH on Rays, AK's and in Nif but now those places are for much higher levels =\.

As for the set, I don't know how much good it would do for a GC sader. Nothing there really seems like it would add to it's damage. You would cancel out the knockback damage of GC by having Holy Armor but that's all I see being really useful here.

Plan B sounds more worth it to me. Maybe consider witch pumpkin hat + gozarian mask combo too.

That card set gives you nothing useful except for the Holy Element armor. Because Angeling cards are hella expensive, I'd just skip that whole deal altogether.

Go with the second set. I don't know how much you plan on spending on this dude, or how far you're going to run with it, but maybe you can try a Grand Cross/Autocast hybrid? I don't know how well this works post balance, but you're going to get knocked around a lot. I personally really like the lvl10 auto heal with an Enchanted Peach Tree carded shield, and a Valkyrian Manteau. Add a St. Patricks Hat +8 to the mix if you need more HP/SP. Then maybe some simple autocast weapon like a firebrand or something. I wouldn't go with anything too exotic. Autocasting is fun, but the damage is somewhat piddly, so it's not really something you should aim for long term.

I ended up going with the Goibnes set. As for the Shield I took your advice and went with the enchanted peach tree card. Although I cannot use my sheild until 86 so I can't say I have used it yet xD. But I am now level 70 having lots of fun mobbing and GCing . Great class and fun. Yes it uses a lot of supplies but damn, nothing like holy pwning!

After hundreds of hours farming and stalking ragial.com, I finally get a complete Crusader card set. And after testing with Grand Cross skill, I came with a conclusion that this card set is freakin useless. What happen is this card DOES endow your armor with holy property, and the damage from Grand Cross skill will MISS. But magically i still lost 20% of my HP after casting it. It seems like some rogue is backstabbing my butt   after casting GC. I want to punch the game developer in the face after seeing this.

Better not waste time on this card set, i can do 2 Holy Cross with the time needed to cast GC and do 4 time damage with Hellfire and Spear Quicken lvl 10 activated and the best part is i dont lose any HP at all to cast/use it.

For AGI-Spear Crusader, i would recommend getting Morrigane set as it works beautifully with crit bonus from Spear Quicken
