If you're using a Windows user account with administrative privileges:
Note:
- If you have disabled User Account Control, then administrative privileges will be granted to every application you open, and there is therefore no need to complete this procedure.
- You can skip the steps after step 2 if you installed the client using either the version of the installer released on 2012/8/16 or a newer version.
- Open your client folder in Windows Explorer.
- For each executable file in the folder (each file with the "exe" extension):
- Select the file.
- Press alt-enter.
- Open the "compatibility" tab.
- Tick (check) "run this program as an administrator".
- Press "OK".
- Open the file Ragnarok.exe (the Renewal updater), wait until the update process is complete, then close the updater.
- Repeat step 2 with the following files:
- ClassicRO.exe
- clragexe.exe
- Sakexe.exe
- Sakray.exe
- Open the file ClassicRO.exe (the Classic updater), wait until the update process is complete, then close the updater.
- Repeat step 2 with the file Setup_Classic.exe.
If you're using a Windows user account with standard privileges:
Note: You can skip the steps after step 2 if you installed the client using either the version of the installer released on 2012/8/16 or a newer version.

- Select the file.
- Press alt-enter.
- Open the "compatibility" tab.
- Press "change settings for all users", then authenticate as an administrator.
- Tick (check) "run this program as an administrator".
- Press "OK" twice.

As for the screen resolution, rightclick setup.exe and choose run as admin, and set the screen resolution, and then start RO and it will work.

You should never open the client by right-clicking on its shortcut then choosing "run as administrator". Do the following instead:
- Open the client folder in Windows Explorer.
- Select all the executable files (files with the "exe" extension) in the folder (hold control to select multiple files).
- Press alt-enter.
- Open the "compatibility" tab.
- Tick (check) "run this program as an administrator".
- Press "OK".
I am running on windows xp professional. I didnt find the "run this programe as administrator" in the compatibility tab. Any other way to do that?

That option isn't present in Windows XP because User Account Control (UAC) wasn't implemented until Windows Vista. (UAC, among other things, prevents applications from modifying the contents of the Program Files folder without first requesting and obtaining administrative privileges.)
You shouldn't need to make any special changes to run the clients on Windows XP. What problem are you experiencing?

you're following advice from 2012...
Yes, exactly. If you have a problem, then it's best to create a new thread rather than refer to threads over 3½ years old.
I've just performed an experiment and discovered that the only component of the IRO client that needs to be manually run with administrative privileges is ClassicRO.exe (from which clragexe.exe will inherit the same privileges). To make ClassicRO.exe always run with administrative privileges:
- Open the client installation folder in File Explorer/Windows Explorer.
- Select the file ClassicRO.exe and then press alt-enter.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Press Change settings for all users and then authenticate as an administrator.
- Tick/check Run this program as an administrator.
- Press OK twice.
- Restart your computer.
- Scan for and remove any malicious software from your computer. (I recommend using Malwarebytes Anti-malware.)
- Update your GPU drivers.
- Uninstall any unneeded software from your computer — especially software that makes dubious claims of improving your computer's performance.
- Reset Internet Explorer's configuration and then reinstall the client.
