my files are inside the user_ai folder.

Goranthtar - can you, while the homun is in that hung state, do a /traceai, wait 10-20 seconds of it standing there, then /traceai again, and send me the file TraceAI.txt from your RO folder, as well as the updated AAI_ERROR.log . My apologies for forgetting to request the trace initially. I've been having some trouble reproducing the behavior you're observing, and I'm awfully curious about where those errors in the log are coming from. I've found some suspect behavior, but not with your configs. In any event, the traceai will contain a detailed record of what it's trying and failing to do.

i am just currious about the difference between the ai i linked and yours but ya i will get the info you asked for. i am sure your ai will work again once its out of development not really sure what changed to cause it to crash for me. then again homunc s kind of messed up every ai.

i am just currious about the difference between the ai i linked and yours but ya i will get the info you asked for. i am sure your ai will work again once its out of development not really sure what changed to cause it to crash for me. then again homunc s kind of messed up every ai.


That AI takes a very different approach to doing damned near everything, and the programmer has a drastically different style than I do - I have a very hard time reading the code, especially since it's commented in foreign language.

My AI works for me, so we need to figure out why it's bugging for you, and fix that. There's some bug that you're running into that other people aren't, and I need to reproduce that bug, trace out where it's coming from, and fix it. It's not a case of there being some secret or trick that I don't know and that AI author does, and by looking at his code I would magically know how to fix this bug that only causes problems for a small number of users (I know it's a small number of users, since only you've reported it, and lots of people use my AI).


Edit: Goranthtar's issue has been resolved. AzzyAI does not support illegal private servers, and he was trying to use it on one.

New thread, because the old one is kinda cluttered.

This latest update brings an improvement in GUI usability (range limits for numeric options) and several bugfixes (including the issue with H_Extra being blanked), support for the new GM mercenaries, improved forward compatibility and stability, and a number of bugfixes, particularly regarding IdleWalk.

Tried Dev 10 second I went into custom AI then called my homun massive errors that constantly kept poping up. Here is a screenshot of it.

When it happens it constantly pops up to the point i have to end process on ragnarok online to get it to stop. I figured out the problem, you forgot to put that Data folder in the azzy ai 1.50 dev 10 zip file.

No, for some reason, windows won't put empty folders into zip files, and doesn't throw an error when it chooses not to. Yet this worked in the past, I'm not sure what I did differently before.

Archive fixed with a temp file in the data folder until I can figure out what I did differently to make the archive successfully last time.

Get 7-zip its free and way better than the piece o'crap one windows comes with, you'll thank me. :) It can pretty much handle almost every compressed file type out there.

Better zip file posted. Used 7zip (which is what I used before, I just forgot about it this time). Saves 4k file size (!! all I did was remove an empty text file!)

Also - I have observed questionable chasing behavior, but I was not able to reproduce it. If anyone is able to reproduce odd chasing behavior, please let me know what did it, and if possible, provide a traceai of the bad behavior.

Why do you believe this to be related to AzzyAI?

I am almost certain that there is nothing I can do from within the AI to trigger a grav error - the best I can do is forcibly exit the client (XP only) or trigger a "this program has stopped working" (vista/7 - what happens if I try to exit the client on those platforms, see documentation about UseAvoid feature), or hang the client.

On the other hand, many people have been experiencing client instability since the updates in august, (entirely unrelated to the homunculus system)

So, unless you have evidence that this is homun related, please see the topics in tech support. If you post that in one of the threads Inubashiri is reading. Inubashiri and Ren can both read those and tell you if that's one of the stability issues that the new client introduced.

I have:
OldHomuType set to 2 (Amister type)
AutoMobMode set to 2 (All)
AutoMobCount set to 3
UseDieterLavaSlide set to 1
TankMonsterLimit set to 2
LavaSlideMode set to 0

I have mainly been in OD2 with mob sizes of 5 or more with no trigger of Lava Slide.


One more thing, I've been testing Bayeri Stein Wand, works pretty well for me but I have been getting this message every so often. I believe it happens when Bayeri tries to use Stein Wand again before the previous SW is used up or disappears.

That should be using lava slide. do you run RO as admin, and have RO located in program files? If so, UAC is probably blocking your config changes (per documentation, this configuration is not supported, for this reason) - move the RO folder to a location outside of program files. Then, delete the contents of the USER_AI folder (not the AI folder, just USER_AI), and reinstall AzzyAI into USER_AI


Thanks for the report with Stein Wand - I have not tested Stein Wand, because I don't have a Bayeri.

Can you tell me what version you're using right now? It is not dev 10, because line 2845 of AI_main does not contain a comparison in dev 10.

Check contents of AAIStartH.txt in your RO folder (if that file doesn't exist, AzzyAI is not installed correctly, review documentation and install it correctly), post them here. Post AAI_ERROR.log as well, if there is one. Assuming AAIStartH is present, please take a traceai while it's ignoring a monster (type /traceai, wait 10-20 seconds while it ignores a monster, and then type /traceai again) and send me TraceAI.txt from your RO folder.

Are you playing an illegal private server? AzzyAI only works on official servers; on private servers it cannot correctly identify target types (due to differences in how Actor ID's are assigned). One of the failure modes observed (there are many possible ones - depending on the server software in use) is that the homunculus does not attack monsters on it's own.

That's why you're having problems, AzzyAI isn't being used. Either the client is still set to use default AI, or my AI is not installed correctly. That's also why you didn't find the AAIStartH.txt file in your RO folder like I asked you to post.

Did you remember to do /hoai (/hoai until it says the AI is customized, then vap/recall)?

Did you install the AI correctly? (Archive contains a folder AzzyAI Dev 10 - open that folder, and copy all files from inside that folder into USER_AI - you can't just put the AzzyAI Dev 10 folder into USER_AI)

Are you running Windows Vista or Windows 7, and UAC is enabled, and RO installed in program files? If so, as stated in the documentation, this configuration is not supported (because windows blocks the installation of the custom AI). You must move the RO folder to a location outside of program files, then delete the contents of USER_AI (not the AI folder, just USER_AI), and reinstall AzzyAI.

Tried the following:

Updated to dev 10
Relocated RO out of my program files
Reinstalled AzzyAI to the new location
Double checked the following after reinstall:

OldHomuType set to 2 (Amister type)

Under the same conditions (OD2/mob size 5+ monsters) still no use of Lava Slide.

Tried the following:

Updated to dev 10
Relocated RO out of my program files
Reinstalled AzzyAI to the new location
Double checked the following after reinstall:

OldHomuType set to 2 (Amister type)
AutoMobMode set to 2 (All)
AutoMobCount set to 3
UseDieterLavaSlide set to 1
TankMonsterLimit set to 2
LavaSlideMode set to 0

Ran RO as admin

No, nevermind, I still can't reproduce this with default tactics on orcs. There are some things that it defaults to not skilling on that it shouldn't (ants) and that's where I was testing it....

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned I'm not using the default tactics or config. I has its own DIETER_tactics/config.

This is what I currently have in my H_Extra:
