Ragnarok.exe crashes as soon as I click start and ClassicRO.exe gives this error report as soon as I click start:

I added Ragexe.exe, Ragnarok.exe, Sakexe.exe, Sakray.exe, clragexe.exe, ClassicRO.exe, Setup.exe, Setup_Classic.exe, and Patchup.exe to Scan Exclusions. I use norton. I set al the above files to run as admin. The patch client will not connect to server with Ragexe.exe, Sakexe.exe, or clragexe.exe set to run as admin. Also, I installed Gravity folder to My Documents.

None of this has fixed the problem. I have however found a temporary solution. I can move my Gravity folder to a new location and then Ragnarok.exe and ClassicRO.exe works, but after a restart it doesn't work anymore. So I move the folder to a new location and it works again. This is however very annoying to have to do.

This problem is quickly becoming the last straw. Please patch this asap.

Are you moving it to a location outside program files? it should work better when not in program files.

I'm having the same issues as previous poster, it crashes as soon as you open ragnarok.exe the classic gives that novice error.
I have changed the compatibility. It is installed on a separate hard drive out side of program files. I have down loaded just an hour ago as previous one no longer can patch properly. Due to me being to long away from the game.
An update to this would help.

these issue because you install from latest patch

Version: 14.1 Ragnarok Renewal (1.6 GB)
[Released on August, 2012]


this installer was bug afterall but the gm couldn't found the bug. To settle this kind of problem follow this


Goto your folder where ragnarok was installed
find the file that name patch.txt and cpatch.txt ( this is file patch where updates cookies save)
delete it (back up 1st) , then run the ragnarok.exe as admin for window 7 user.
after finish run the classic as admin too. well to get fresh data.
on this update will start upon 2011-04-04.gpf. kindly wait and complete it.


note these one problem also " client automatic revert updates from 2011-04-04"
when these happen follow the solution below


just run the update as well at above ( 1st quote ) look at cpatch.txt and patch.txt . make sure this 2 file are READ ONLY. the was to make sure the patch.txt and cpatch.txt not delete automatic. these occur because of some kind of malware or other thing :heh: making force delete that file and thats why you automatic revert update. When maintanance occur, simply put it back that file unread to get updates.

Nope didn't work. When I tried opening ragnarok.exe it crashes and spits this out

Deleted the files and still does it. Running it as win 7 admin. I can see it patching but can't seem to get in.

Have tried everything, installing into diferent folders, always run with admin priviligies, several diferent compatibilities, downloaded some .exes than some devs put in here, deleting patches.exes, everything and still nothing.

Im running it on Windows 7 64 bit.

Are the people having the problem using an Anti-Virus or have the required ports open. I think ports may need opened for the game to work properly and patch OK. Before I even ran the program after installing I did added those as allowed trafic through the firewall. The required ports are found here: https://support.warp...rok-online.aspx

Drag and drop the clients into the ragnarok folder (backup if desired beforehand) and overwrite.

This is one of many problems that may occur, if this does not fix your solution feel free to try other options. Always keep a copy of the installer incase you need to start over due to accident/outdated procedure/cat jumping on keyboard deleting random files/etc...

I had a clean install issue as well on win 7 64bit. This fixed my problem, hopefully it helps with yours.

Essentially gravity messed up their clients on the clean install, the ones provided here will work properly.

Do not follow the instructions there, they are telling you to break client patching.

Are the people having the problem using an Anti-Virus or have the required ports open. I think ports may need opened for the game to work properly and patch OK. Ports do not need to be added unless you have an unusual network configuration which blocks OUTGOING traffic. This is typically only done on a corporate or university network.

I just did a clean install on Windows 7 64-bit, still getting error. Followed all of the recommendation [barring the breaking of client patching] and no results.
