I recently downloaded RO after about a year of hiatus, and used the playragnarok.com game download. After downloading I read the direction on patching, and patched both RO Classic and then RO as admin. But when I opened the Ragexe, I found the game was only opening in a small window. So naturally I headed to my Ragnarok program file, selected Setup.exe and before I knew it, Setup had crashed and needed to shut down. I attempted to re-patch my game, I uninstalled the game, cleared my registry and reinstalled iRO.

Nothing has helps so far, so I come to you Ragnarok forums. Please tell me I'm not alone in this. I haven't found anything online of my own research.

What OS are you running? What Antivirus do you have and do you always get the setup crash error message?

I am running Windows XP with Comodo Internet Security. The firewall has a sandbox feature and Ragnarok, with all of its subparts are on the permitted list.
The setup exe error screen always comes up.

Is the error is AppCrash? A Screenshot might help.

You can either use a Snipping Tool in your Accessories (Start Icon>All Programs>Accessories>Snipping Tools) or just printscreen the whole screen. After you got the image, you can upload the image at Photobucket.com and copy the HTML link once it finished uploaded.

I should note that the Setup.exe for RO Classic works perfectly, by the way.

You might want to get in contact with R&D volunteer Inubashiri, I have not heard a lot of setup specific complaints. The only other thing I could think of is a possible corrupted download-did you download it on a dialup, wifi or using a download accelerator. When you reinstalled the game and used a registry cleaner, did you reinstall the game to a different folder or the same one?

Doesn't it need to be in Drive>Program Files>Gravity?

I downloaded the game client via Wifi as I don't have a working Ethernet port in my laptop. I downloaded it to the default location. It created a new gravity folder in Program files and so on. As far as I know there was no download accelerator I am using goggle chrome, though.

Google chrome shouldn't be a problem, that's what I use on my PC here.

Dr. Azzy elsewhere in tech support found that for some systems installing RO in the program folder could cause conflicts. I would recommend installing to a non program files location.

If you are spending way too much time trying to fix it then I would strongly suggest a complete uninstall and reinstall. The trick with the newer Windows operating systems is to always Run the setup file, configuration file, or first time running RO as admin. The secret is run as Admin. Even when it comes to installing or reinstalling.

I have done a complete uninstall, registry wipe, and re-installed RO. This time to a different folder and ran everything including the downloaded install app as admin, and I still am receiving the same error message. WTF
