Ragexe.exe has stopped working. (Still need help.)

I've been gone for many months and so I wasn't surprised something went wonky when I tried to start up iRO. I went ahead and re-installed the whole game and let it patch through. I have run compatibility for iRO and set it to administrator, allowed it through my firewalls and antivirus-even tried shutting them off while playing, and I have also gotten a copy of someone else's ragexe.exe and replaced mine with it...not of this has worked. Please, if anyone has any idea how to fix this then tell me. It's driving me crazy.

I, naturally, am operating with Windows Vista.

This messages occurs after the client has patched. The game will not open, this message is all that appears when I try.

When starting Ragnarok I get a Microsoft message stating that ragexe.exe has stopped working.
But when I try to patch and start Classis I get a Gravity Error Handler message:

I've been working at this for hours now, on and off, and I really want to play but this is starting to get crazy. Does anyone know how to fix this one?

Yes, as I said, with Ragnarok I get the Microsoft Windows message that ragexe.exe has stopped working, and with ClassicRO I get a Gravity Error Handler message and the code it gave me is listed above.

You also have to make sure you run the Renewal patcher. From there you run the Classic patcher after the Renewal patcher has finished before patching with the Renewal patcher one last time.

There is no specific patcher listed as "Renewal" in my Gravity folder, just Ragnarok and ClassicRO. I just assume they changed it so it wasn't listed as Renewal anymore.

I have run all patchers available to me multiple times. :c I am not sure what I am doing wrong but it has to be something. I admit I'm getting very frustrated.

Patch the "Ragnarok" first before patching using "Classic." Then patch "Ragnarok" again. Patching them in that sequence has worked for other users.

It took a few seconds longer, but the ragexe.exe message still appeared. No sign of the game window at all.

You made sure that you're running each type of patcher as Admin by right-clicking them and doing "Run as Administrator," right?

Or you could try Azzy's approach and move the entire folder out of your Program Files and start patching after that. See if that helps if the above suggestion doesn't help.

I made sure I was, and tried moving the entire folder. No luck.
I don't want to but do you think I should wipe everything out and try installing one more time?

Actually I forgot to ask this, but when you said you deleted the old client and started reinstalling the new one, did you make sure you deleted all the content in your old RO folder? Patches and such might still be there even after you've uninstalled RO. So you'd literally have to go back there and delete the patch file(s) before reinstalling.

I assume you using Ragnarok version 14.1 installer. That's the latest one so far. Make sure you disable antivirus first before installing and try to install RO other than Program File. Make sure you try to install and run patcher as Admin too.

Make sure there's no trace of any files left in RO folder.

Inubashiri suggests that this is likely a misconfigured antivirus.

For testing, disable Comodo antivirus, and see if that fixes it.
Then, if that fixes it, turn it back on, and add an exception for the RO directory - don't run without virus protection.
If that doesn't change anything, turn it back on.

I re-installed again last night and tried it all again...no go. Nothing worked.
