Hey there. I live in the middle of no where and the only internet in our area has data limits on it, with serious fees if you go over :\
I've been reading around and some people say you can really play Ragnarok for a long time and hardly use more than a few megabytes I'm only skeptical because it seems a little too good to be true. Then again, Ragnarok runs from an installed file, so it's not necessarily pulling much data from the internet.
So, hypothetically, is there any hope for playing the game every now and then without worrying about going over my limit? I've downloaded the client from a different network, as I'm sure that would have defiantly made my internet go over. I have a monthly limit of 10GBs.
Yay? Nay?
How much data does Ragnarok Online use?

RO does not use a significant amount of bandwidth (though the client download is huge)
I've run multiple clients 24/7, in addition to using the internet normally, and my monthly use was under 5gb/month.

Wow, you've got one hell of a -_-ty ISP if your cap is only 10GB a month.
Bandwidth caps are kind of stupid in the first place, every year the overall bandwidth of the internet increases, the only reason there are bandwidth caps are because of the profit motive. Google Fiber can't spread fast enough, imho.

Yes. It's awful. I mean, I'm sure it's fine for someone who isn't internet heavy, but it stinks not being able to stream videos that often.
Anyway, I've got two days left until my 10GBs start again and they called me yesterday to tell me I'm only at 50% which means I have another 5gbs to mess around with. It'd be way easier if they would just let me see how much data I've used, instead of getting automated phone calls . . .
So. I'm going to play like a mad man, and if nothing happens, then I guess it is true.
From what I've researched and I don't mean to name drop here, but I've found that WoW (A much heavier mmo) uses about 5mbs for an hour of play, assuming you stay away from other players. So, in this logic, a simple game like Ragnarok shouldn't use much. Especially if I'm mostly grinding. I also play on Ymir, which is the least populated server.
If I stay away from Prontera, I "think" I'll be fine.

It's not data intensive regardless, you could afk 10 accounts in prontera on valk and be fine.
