[Zeal]

Recently got a new computer running on windows 8. In both of the setups there is nothing in the drop down list for sceen res. and if i run it with just fuil screen checked it comes up blank and ends up with that pesky Cannot init d3d or grf file has problem. Any suggestions. The computer is brand new and should be fully campable in running RO.. completely frustrating at this point. yes everything has been run as admin, re downloaded as well. still nothing in the setup dropdown list for screen resolution. really hope this can be fixed..

Not sure this will help but thats the crash i get if i dont run in full screen. fully screen mode doesnt work anyways.

I think ill just assume ro isn't compatible with windows 8 for the time being.

Reinstall DirectX from Microsoft.com or just google it.
Reinstall the video driver for your OS.
RO will not work if you dont have the proper video software.

First step is to run Setup as admin, and make sure something is selected in the first two menus - if there isn't something selected in both menus, the game will give that error.

If there are no options for one or both of those menus, you are probably missing Direct X and/or graphics drivers.

Also - there may be other complications to making it work on Win8 - so far I'm aware of only two other people playing iRO on Windows 8.
