Eeew, that's one I've never seen before.

Can you post system details? (changed topic title to make problem more obvious, since there's another common setup problem that people would assume it was from topic)

Sorry for lack of response, didn't see your reply until now. Glad you got it working. Would you care to say how you did it, so I know what to tell people next time someone has this issue?

I got the game working now but i can't change display -_-

Try changing resolution with Setup, and if that doesn't work, with Classic Setup (yes, I know this is kinda ridiculous - large numbers of people have reported this works)

actually, i'd like to know how to fix this one too...
I finally convinced my boyfriend to play, we reformatted his laptop, since the patches kept being eaten.
And now we have this too, i'm going to expiriment on it a bit myself, but i'd like to know the solution in case i don't find it :/

Also, when he opens RO, it crashes immediately due to NoSpam.dll. I hope those two are connected in this case, because no one really knows how to fix that yet right?

Ps. I don't think i have dirextX installed yet, so i may need just that ;)

repaired the client
uninstalled and reinstalled the client
Ran as admin
and still >,< nothing at all
setup can't open
and what's worse, we came down with the could not laod nospam.dll AGAIN >.<

I don't have enough technical knowledge for this, so please help T.T

In XP, I had to run the renewal setup.exe (ghost icon) in compatibility mode (windows 98/ME).

To do this, right click the icon, go to properties.

Navigate to the compatibility tab, click run this program in compatibility mode for and choose Windows 98/ME from the drop down).
