So. I've done my research before I posted here. It seems to be a pretty common problem that the installer takes forever to initialize. (I'm on Vista with only 1g of RAM.) After several tries, I've finally gotten to the "Copying New Files" portion of the install. Now it seems to be stuck in a loop. It makes it to 100% and then the bar goes back to empty, freezes for about 3 minutes, and starts itself over again. I've watched it go at least 10 times at this point, and 3 of those times I've gotten the media2.cab error (Or something similar to that). All I have to do is hit retry and it resumes copying new files, only to leave me with an empty bar again at 100%. Is anyone aware of this problem, I'm hoping to find a solution soon.

Thanks in advance.

What is the name and size (in bytes) of your copy of the installer? (To find the size of a file, select it in Windows Explorer and then press alt-enter. Ignore the "size on disk" field.)

iRO-14.1.3-FullInstall-20121031-2012

1.60 GB (1,721,061,376 bytes)

Downloaded from the official site today.

EDIT: Also off topic for this. But how do I change my forum name? I've looked through all the account settings, and maybe I'm just tired and overlooked it somewhere, but having a number for a name is slightly annoying...

Well, the file hasn't been truncated. Try performing a manual installation.

Just tried it once. lessmsi seemed to be working perfectly. Everything was extracting fine until I got an error. Something to do with the media2.cab again. I'm assuming that would be the root of the problem. I tried a fresh download from the main site again. Same issue. Maybe the download is corrupted somehow?

EDIT: This is the error report.

The following error occured extracting the MSI:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x000000B7): Failed to execute cab extract, error:183
at
Microsoft.Tools.WindowsInstallerXml.Cab.WixExtractCab.Extract(StringcabinetFile, String extractDir)
at LessMsi.Msi.Wixtracts.ExplodeAllMediaCabs (Database msidb,DirectoryInfo baseOutputPath)
at LessMsi.Msi.Wixtracts.ExtractFiles (FileInfo msi, DirectoryInfo outputDir, MsiFile[] filesToExtract, AsyncCallback progress Callback)
at LessMsi.Ui.MainForm.btnExtract_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

Check whether your copy of the installer is corrupted.

Alright. I did a little more looking around and decided to try the wiki download / installer. If that doesn't work. I'll re-download the official installer and try the check. I appreciate all your help by the way. :D
