Ahoy there Cookie Heads! As always on Tuesday, it is Tuesday!! Tuesday means Maintenance, and usually a patch which comes with forum rage almost all the time!
Tuesday is the day after Monday and I bet everybody just loves Monday! I just felt like I wanted to mention that, but I have no idea why actually.
This is the section where I usually put community created random pictures, but I haven't received any submission last week, so it's empty now.
If you feel like you want to share a funny or random picture with the community on maintenance day, then feel free to send me a PM with the picture in it. The picture must be something related to ROSE (or the maintenance), must not be wider than 800 pixels and must not be higher than 400 pixels.
Fake patch nuts because the originals are not fake! WARNING! This stuff is fake, so it's not true!

Patch nuts v29451
Item Mall
Free Item Mall for 1 week!
Anyone who manages to spend more than 1000 Item Mall points during this week will receive an amazing gift!!!
Monday Event
New Monday Event items have been added
Calanor's Nasty Bugs Bag
Zeppelin's Banhammer Bag
Leonis' Server Crash Bag
General
Calanor has been renamed to Calanor. Such an amazing, flashy new name. Isn't it?
Official Zulie Seller spammers have been added as an attempt to fix the unofficial Zulie Spammer Issue
These new spammers can not be ignored
They should spam all chat channels in all zones including Clan, Party and Alliance
If that was not enough, they occassionally send you Friend Requests to spam your friend chat. Once accepted, these "friends" can not be removed
Class Balance
Visitor
Visitor is now a standalone class. Anyone who wishes to remain a visitor should talk to [Visitor Trainer] Haters in Adventurer's Plains
Visitors received a powerful new skill called the "Champ Killer" which kills any champion in a 30m radius. (That's about champions being overpowered - kkthxbye)
Bugs
Calanor slept, Zeppelin was on holiday, Leonis was drinkin' beer... and Genesis... well, his name's color is orange... That's about bugs!
The maintenance period was extended by 24 hours to fix the bug mentioned above. The following changes will be done:
Calanor will be pumped with coffee
Zeppelin will be called back immadiately from his holiday
Leonis will drink vodka, instead of beer
Genesis' name will be changed to pink! yay for pink!
The rest of the Gravity team (if we find any) will be locked in a cage to work 24/7

Spoiler
First of all, I would like to mention that nothing that is mentioned here is set in stone. Everything is a subject for change, because they are work in progress things.
According to Genesis, we can expect to see a larger friend list in the near future.
Although unrelated to the Game Arena, I did recently modify the messenging system to accommodate for a larger friends list (expanded from 35 to 200). The changes were recently moved into the main development codebase, so I would expect to see it go live in the coming weeks.

Honor rewards for clerics:
Spoiler
On Union Wars, it seems pretty good. The one class I would like to point out is the clerics in general, because they generally have little offensive capabilities and tend to heal their party, would the points system still reflect for this class?
If by "reflect" you mean get double points just for being a Cleric, the answer is no. With the changes to the reward mechanics, there are enough opportunities for a Cleric to earn points through idle activity alone (i.e. standing within range of a crystal to earn tick accumulated points while buffing/healing) as both an attacker and defender. While it's still not a great advancement over standing at the respawn area accumulating points, it at least introduces a risk of being killed out in the battle field.
To be honest, I don't think it will take long after the Game Arena update before additional mechanics are introduced to reward based on skills that are cast, as such mechanics are almost a fundamental requirement in PvP reward systems. For now, what I'm hoping to see from the first set of changes is an increase in group activity, and less players idling in the respawn area.
PvM Game Arena difficulty
Spoiler
This is just another suggestion, but how about a Very Hard setting also, like a further 20 levels higher? Kind of like for players who would prefer to have a challenge, with the level settings suited for the imaginary level 240 for example. Reason is during the end levels, there is quite a few things left to do, and a majority are on maximum refined gears and such, the EXP should be higher, but the drops or rewards could stay the same.
Fearsome Terrasaurus King is level 245 and can still be easily defeated by a couple of players - it's not so much the level that defines the difficulty. For PvM game modes, the standard scaling of monster stats will at least be increased by a whole tiering, so that a basic dungeon minion will have similar stats to that of a regular field boss.
Monster difficulty will also naturally increase through the use of their skills, which many field monsters don't have (usually limited to a few specific monster types such as magicians or bosses).
Depending on the dungeon encounter, other situational awareness mechanics such as AOE damage zones or escorting an NPC (with variable intelligence) who could be killed by enemies can be used to increase the risk of failure and add difficulty to the encounter.
Will the dungeons require a 6 man party or can it be done with less persons? I would like to know how tough/hard you intend to make them.
Assuming a typical Level 220 dungeon crawl encounter, my expectations on difficulty would be along the lines of: Easy (generally not an option at end game) - 6~8 Players - Equipment Refine 5~6 Blues/Refine 4~5 Valor Medium - 8~10 Players, Equipment Refine 7~10 Blues/Refine 6~8 Valor Hard - 9~10 Players, Equipment Refine 12~15 Blues/Refine 10~15 Valor

ROSE Online Webcomic! This little random comic is one of the few things you can enertain yourself with during the maintenance. Link below: This is a link... Click meh! Current Episode: 3
According to the author of this comic, he temporarily discontinued the project due to the lack of interest and feedback from the community's side. Nevertheless, if no new episodes are added soon, it will be gone from the Maintenance Thread.
For those bored souls who have really nothing to do, here are some sources of entertainment that could possibily give them some fun for a few seconds or hours:
hmmm does that mean being able to party more than 6 people now or what? dungeon with 2 parties of 6 ksing eachother or so? :S
At present it is still in the development stage with regards to the amount of people per a party.
However the different different difficulties indicate different rooms. There should also be a mechanic that indicates that particular dungeon is presently full or in use such as the Cave of Ulverick for example. Therefore the possibility of 2 parties Kill Stealing each should be zero.
Iyou forgot quilin. cant go leaving him out
me loves patchnuts. spent all last week threatening to calanorize people till said people threatend to have me locked up as insane.
OOh i must go make a new toon, a visitor, level it to 100 to become an advance visitor! then i can get my champ killer skill!!

I like this maintenance thread Surely gots some interesting stuffs @ Community Senate Stuff +1 for a larger friend list! I only doubt it'd ever reach 200, unless it's filled with peoples alts.
