3% Exp reduced when character dies.

Another newbie question. What the title says. If the character dies when the exp is less than the amount reduced on death, which would usually mean dying shortly after leveling up, will it simply be reduced to 0.0%, or will he like 'level down', lose the stats gained for that level, or something of that sort?

It will simply be reduced to 0.0%.
