Short and simple.
Add some randomly spawning nodes around each map.
Players can mine them for Ores, Essence, Clusters and Dust.
Simple Tier: 1-3
Dust/Essence Tier: 0-1 [50% chance]
Respawn Time: mmmmm 20 mins? Even if they're on every map, so many people will be after them, you'd need a quick respawn.
Why?
Cause we need something OUTSIDE of GA to get the materials, especially with AA not working, and Lag problems being ever increasingly annoying.
Plus, it'd give Boss farmers the ability to farm Runes as well. AND, allow for players who are leveling a char, to get that jumpstart into getting a rune and empowering it.

How to get the system set up for harvesting nodes:
The end result would be:
-Nodes Spawn Randomly in designated areas periodically, but not in all areas.
-Requires certain Character Level and certain Mining Picks [equipped as well] to harvest the vein/node
-Scaling Pick system can promote some IM sales via offering a Pick that ignores the level requirement for harvesting.
-Passives can be introduced or Features added to Premium Account that influence the amount of Materials given on a successful Harvest.
Essentially you'd imagine the Leprechaun System during the St. Patrick's Day event where you need a specific net to actually damage them, but in this instance it's a node and mining pick.
