Gravity(tm) Error Handler - Community Thread

Hello Everyone

I wanted to ask you all about a particular Error that we are all affected by. You may know this error as the one error that you drag to the side of the screen and ignore for the rest of your RO session. Today I would like to ask all of you about this error.

I am certain we all get these errors and there may be some differences but I would like to know who else gets these errors and where.

I would appreciate the thread being shared to show these errors that others get and where.
Also can you give an estimated time frame for when these errors came uup for you?

Always getting this error recently. I think in towns or places with other players, like in Prontera, Eden, Hugel, etc. Does it have to do with some cosmetics or items that is not patched correctly? And when players with these items walk near, we get this error? 

Hello, I figured I would add some information to help get resolution on the issue.

I found that opening a .exe client that might be graphic intensive can manually produce the error code.

I was opening EVE Online and found that eveytime the Client for EVE opens, the bug will display.

Luckily the error code no longer crashed my machine.

Same error  I opened 6 clients once, and the error displayed for all clients 

I've gotten it in Prontera, Eden, Comodo, Juno...

I tend to also get this in any town. It happens sporadically.

Was AFK in Pront while using another client to log into other accounts (for daily login rewards). Can't say how long I was idle for exactly, but roughly maybe 3 minutes or so.

Everyday error:

If I log into characters in major towns, like Prontera, these will pop up very quickly (maybe less than a few minutes after logging in). If logging into a dungeon/quieter town, I don't tend to get them until I run into other players and even then it's random. I also think it has to do with specific gear/costumes/pets as someone mentioned earlier.

the easiest place to get this is around south prontera where a bunch of shops are, unless i hide shops using /showshop game lags real bad

Looking up what the game is doing in the background i can see it constantly looks for a path which does not exist:

the "data\texture\english\..." folder structure does not exist in game files, game files also miss a lot of costume related files "data\sprite\..." in the image above, the game has workarounds to prevent complete crashes due to those but i believe the sheer amount of errors might be causing the frequent Gravity Error Handler to appear. 5 mins around that south prontera and Process Monitor capture 351,144 unsuccessful events mainly "NAME NOT FOUND" and "NO SUCH FILE", i think that should be looked into and hopefully it helps in solving this issue.

My hunches so far - 

No.1

The above is me scanning and fixing corrupted files on my MS OS, after doing that and re-running the game the same error still occurs. Can assume there is no file corrupting causing it.

We get several error code lines followed:

The fact that EAX is a null might be of use to the devs, especially in the context of access violation like here it could be a failed attempt to dereference a null pointer causing the crash


No.3:
Following a bit from no.2, it states at the end "RendererDX9.cpp 129", this indicates there is an issues with rendering of files/images not properly loading in or not rendering fast enough on busy maps and the client can't keep up that's using old tech can't keep up with the hardware kit in peoples pc(graphics cards) processing it too fast.

No.4:
I've notices that tiles on non-busy maps sometimes are glitched out, it's not common but happens sometimes where a tile is showing pure spazzing out and shows vertical lines, no screenshot unfort here.

The above are assumptions of mine so take em with grain of salt, just trying to help if it gets looked into, not something an end user can resolve I've come to, has to be Dev side to patch.

That is interesting aligns with one of my hunches of rendering images, when too much errors are thrown sometimes it breaks logic of something working, in this case the client and then it just gives up and crashes.

Would be awkward if there is full blown game files missing, bad version control checks that cause this.
