Hey everyone I just started playing RO by making a Gunslinger and I've been reading alot of guides and am still a little lost due to my all around noobiness,,,I'm kind of under the impression that having a GS as a first character may be a lost cause, but it's the job I wanted to and I want to be able to keep playing it until I'm at a decent level and have a better understanding of exactly how to correctly build characters..If anyone feels like helping I'm looking for advice on how to build a good casual GS with PVP potential..
I don't know if I'm making any sense anyway thanks in advance everybody!

The best way to level is by going for a Desperado build. As the name says, you focus on using Desperado to level. Basically, just mob and spam Desperado until your entire mob dies. All the stats that matter are DEX (damage), VIT (survival) and INT (SP/regen).
PvPing as a Gunslinger won't go too well, particularly because most people in PvP are well-geared 3rd-jobs and you'll just get up to 99 as a 2nd job. But if you still want to, you can use a pistol/rifle/shotgun and use skills like Trigger Happy, Desperado (if you're fighting a melee opponent), Tracking or Full Blast. Get a Hydra card on your gun and equips like Cat Ear Beret to increase your damage against other players. Don't expect to dominate in PvP though, unless you're fighting horrible slightly higher leveled players or other 2nd classes. But still, most of the time it's always high leveled 3rd classes with good gears in PvP, or sometimes Ninjas which I don't think a Gunslinger is a match for. Don't even think of Woeing as a Gunslinger.

generally, Gunslinger builds fall into two base formats.
both possesing high DEX.
the Pistol / Rifle side that has focus on high AGI,
or the Desperado / Shotgun that focuses on relatively middle grade VIT and INT.

PvP/WoE as a Gunslinger is only possible in the classic server. As far as playing slinger on a more serious level in Renewal, you're wasting your time. WoEing as a slinger your main duty is to become a portal-_-(Desperado), pre cast with freeze mines, and kill off the wizard, hunter, and assassin classes. Disarming EMP breakers can help also.

It will be possible to WoE with Gunslinger in Renewal when WoE:TrainingEdition will hit iRO since WoE:TE is basically Renewal WoE with 2nd/Trans/Expanded jobs only.
